Overview
Ticker.id (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides structured, timestamped U.S. ticker mentions from our podcast corpus via spreadsheet UI and developer API.This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
- Account credentials. When sign-in is enabled, we collect the email and password you provide, plus optional profile fields such as display name.
- API keys. If you create developer keys, we store key metadata (name, prefix, creation time) and a hashed secret — not the full key after creation.
- Usage data. We collect information about how you use the Service, including pages visited, API calls, ticker searches, and monitor configurations.
- Billing data. Paid subscriptions are processed by our payment provider; we receive subscription status and tier information, not full card numbers.
- Technical data. We may collect standard log data such as IP address, browser type, and device information for security and reliability.
- Notification contact details. If you opt in to email or SMS alerts, we process the contact information needed to deliver those messages.

We use collected information to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Service
- Authenticate users and protect against unauthorized access

Third-Party Services
We use third-party providers to deliver core functionality, which may process data on our behalf. These can include transcription, language model, payment, email, SMS, and hosting providers. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies. We also use Plausible for privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that does not build personal advertising profiles.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies or similar session mechanisms to keep you signed in when authentication is enabled. Site analytics via Plausible does not use cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may limit site functionality.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of certain stored data by contacting us.
Podcast Mention Data
Our Service extracts and publishes structured, timestamped mentions of publicly traded U.S. companies from a corpus of podcast audio, using transcription and language model providers as described in the Third-party services section above. This process may incidentally identify podcast hosts, guests, or other speakers by name where they are the source of a mention.
Individuals identified in this way are not “users” of the Service, and we do not collect information directly from them. We do not use podcast mention data to build profiles of hosts or guests, deliver notifications to them, or make decisions about them. The information published is limited to what is necessary to attribute a mention to its public source — such as speaker name, podcast title, and timestamp — as it already exists in the public broadcast.
Legal basis. We process this information on the basis of our legitimate interest in reporting publicly available commentary about publicly traded securities, consistent with the Service’s core purpose. Where required by applicable law, we balance this interest against the rights and expectations of identified individuals before publishing.
Retention. We retain podcast mention data, including any identified speaker names, for as long as needed to provide the Service, consistent with the Data retention section above.
Your rights. If you are a host, guest, or other speaker referenced in our podcast mention data, you may contact us to:
- Request information about what data we have published referencing you
- Request correction of inaccurate attribution
- Request that a reference to you be removed or anonymized, which we will evaluate against our legitimate interest in accurate public reporting
To make a request, contact us at service@ticker.id. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
Your Choices
- You can choose not to use optional notification features.
- You can revoke API keys at any time from Settings.
- You can contact us to request access to or deletion of personal information we hold.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Use the Service at your own risk.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
