So when you see these institutional players rotate into gold, retail investors probably need to understand the forces driving that shift and what it means for their own allocations. Also touch on the property tax revolt that we're seeing across the country, how that really affects your costs across the board. Another story on bank consolidation and what that might mean for where you store and keep your money. Should we have time at the end of the show, we'll talk a little bit about how 2026 just broke the all-time IPO record. We also have some voice bank calls ready to play, including one on the US economy and another on Zscaler Inc., as well as some questions that came in from the comments section of the Invest Talk YouTube channel. We're going into a quick break. Please remember, you can call anytime and leave your questions on the Invest Talk voice bank. Luke Guerrero · InvestTalk · Gold's Big Comeback: Why the World's Largest Money Managers Are Loading Up Again · 2026-09-15This is Randy from Tampa, Florida. Um, hope you're doing well and thank you for all you do. Been a long time listener and I'll watch on YouTube a lot. And, um, I have a stock I want to see your opinion on. It is Zscaler, ticker symbol ZF. Um, I really like the opportunity in that space and I'm looking to, to add a position into that. Uh, but want to get your thoughts on this. Look forward to hearing my question on your show.
Speaker C · InvestTalk · Gold's Big Comeback: Why the World's Largest Money Managers Are Loading Up Again · 2026-09-15Thank you. All righty, let's take a look at Zscaler, ticker ZS. It is a roughly $100— or sorry, $31 billion market cap, uh, cloud security company. So what they do is they connect users, workloads, branches, and now AI agents directly to various applications without moving them towards external networks. So in a way, it is benefiting from what has been a big trend of movement towards cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure security as well. From a revenue perspective, I mean, it's grown significantly since July of 2020. It's grown from $431 million in revenue to $3.3 billion. That's roughly 38% on an annualized basis.
Luke Guerrero · InvestTalk · Gold's Big Comeback: Why the World's Largest Money Managers Are Loading Up Again · 2026-09-15Plus, the CEO of cybersecurity firm Zscaler on results. We'll also get his reaction to new reports of another hack from OpenAI agents.
Mike Santoli · Squawk on the Street · 10AM Hour: A Tough Stretch for Lululemon, Goldman Sachs Chief Economist, Zscaler CEO on Earnings 9/4/26 · 2026-09-04Welcome back. Zscaler topping earnings expectations and giving upbeat guidance. The stock is down this morning. John Forte joins us now along with the CEO in a first on CNBC interview.
Mike Santoli · Squawk on the Street · 10AM Hour: A Tough Stretch for Lululemon, Goldman Sachs Chief Economist, Zscaler CEO on Earnings 9/4/26 · 2026-09-04John. Thanks, Mike and Jay. It's good to see you. Jay Chowdhury, CEO of Zscaler. The stock is down after you guided to current quarter growth at 19%. You had beats across the board on the quarter that you've reported. How much of your full year guide, which is a little lighter than the the current quarter guide is conservative, especially given that you said your sales force's productivity just hit a high.
Jon Forte · Squawk on the Street · 10AM Hour: A Tough Stretch for Lululemon, Goldman Sachs Chief Economist, Zscaler CEO on Earnings 9/4/26 · 2026-09-04So today Zscaler sits in line to make sure the right agent can talk to the right agent so they can access the right resources. That is probably the best solution for avoiding attacks we are hearing about Hugging Face or many other attacks like that. Now, when you, when you sit in line, you're picking up a lot of telemetry, and we take that telemetry, we take it to our SecOps solution, which is powered by Agentic technology. So I can analyze the data, find for any reconnaissance and any of the underlying activity that could lead to bad things, and feed it back to my inline So I can act to those issues in minutes. Today, in a traditional security operation systems, it takes days or weeks. So I'm very excited about extending our platform from inline policy enforcement to security operations.
Jay Chaudhry · Squawk on the Street · 10AM Hour: A Tough Stretch for Lululemon, Goldman Sachs Chief Economist, Zscaler CEO on Earnings 9/4/26 · 2026-09-04So these incidents are making CEOs, CIOs, and boards very nervous. I have been talking to lots and lots of them. They have two concerns. One, even if I don't adopt AI, these frontier models have the capacity, have the ability to find vulnerabilities and break something down. That's number one. Number two, if they embrace AI, they build applications and models. Can somebody breach? Zscaler has the We have a perfect solution for both of those because as a zero trust exchange, we make sure we hide your applications behind our exchange. If you're not reachable, you're not breachable. That's number one. Number two, today a user is the weakest link from cyber point of view. Tomorrow agents will be the weakest link, or if I may say, is the most dangerous link. By being an exchange to make sure only right agent can talk to right application, We can handle that and reduce the number of breaches like Hugging Face and the like. That's the opportunity for Zscaler. I feel like we are built for this moment.
Jay Chaudhry · Squawk on the Street · 10AM Hour: A Tough Stretch for Lululemon, Goldman Sachs Chief Economist, Zscaler CEO on Earnings 9/4/26 · 2026-09-04So underlying all of that and different with Zscaler than some of your competitors or partners out there in the security market, you are building out infrastructure that supports this real-time zero-trust approach. But that means you need stuff like memory that's really hard to come by in this market. And when you can come by it, it's really expensive. What's the impact of this memory crunch, say, on your margins? And how short term is that? How should investors think about the way that that investment prices out over time?
Jon Forte · Squawk on the Street · 10AM Hour: A Tough Stretch for Lululemon, Goldman Sachs Chief Economist, Zscaler CEO on Earnings 9/4/26 · 2026-09-04Qualcomm very interested in that. As well, the potential of running on device. Jay, thanks for the insights. Jay Chaudhry, the CEO of Zscaler.
Jon Forte · Squawk on the Street · 10AM Hour: A Tough Stretch for Lululemon, Goldman Sachs Chief Economist, Zscaler CEO on Earnings 9/4/26 · 2026-09-04That's a good list. I would also caution that not everything Rachel just said applies to every stock. That's really important to know as well. And what I mean by that is I'll just name the last two stocks I've bought in my own portfolio. One was cybersecurity company Zscaler. The other was a real estate investment trust called Realty Income that I added to my position. With a growth story like Zscaler, the qualitative definitely comes more into play. I want to know what the growth tailwinds in AI cybersecurity are. I want to know what their moat is. I want to know what their management strategy is. With an established slow and steady compounder like Realty Income, I'm more about the metrics. So it's really about what stock you're investing in, what kind of industry you're looking at, what kind of growth trends you want to capture. It's a great list, but the short answer is it depends on the stock.
Matt Frankel · Motley Fool Hidden Gems Investing · A $13 Billion Bet on Robots? · 2026-08-31Welcome to Seeking Alpha's Wall Street Brunch, our Sunday look ahead to this week's market-moving events, along with the weekend's top news and analysis. Hello, today is Sunday, August 30th, and I'm your host, Kim Kahn. This week brings the August jobs report, which could be crucial for the Federal Reserve's next move. Following what traders saw as a hawkish Jackson Hole speech from new Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh, odds of a quarter-point September rate hike have jumped to 57% from 40%. with an 18% chance of another hike in October. Economists expect a modest rise in August nonfarm payrolls of 55,000, with the unemployment rate holding steady at 4.1%. Wells Fargo economists say alternative indicators suggest job growth has stabilized rather than continuing to deteriorate. Hiring measures from regional Fed surveys have improved in recent months. Small business hiring plans have perked back up, and job openings have leveled off. Meanwhile, initial jobless claims remain near multi-decade lows, underscoring that layoffs are still contained. Seeking Alpha analyst Damar Tokic expects a strong August jobs report to cement a quarter-point rate hike. Warsh clearly stated in his Jackson Hole speech that the labor market is strong as the unemployment rate at 4.1% is very low by historical standards. He said, "The main implication for monetary policy is that the labor market is fine, thus the focus shifts entirely to inflation." On the earnings front, Broadcom will give further insight into AI spending when it reports Wednesday. Analysts expect EPS of $3.24 on revenue of $29.4 billion. SA analyst Dustin Kwasny says the stock faces elevated near-term downside risk ahead of earnings due to high expectations set by NVIDIA's recent results. For those long the stock, he recommends covered calls that prioritize downside protection. Here's how the rest of the earnings calendar shapes up. On Tuesday, Palo Alto Networks, Dell, and Medtronic report. Snowflake weighs in on Wednesday. Sienna and Zscaler are up Thursday. Also this week, on Tuesday, John Ternus will step into the role of Apple CEO, taking over from Tim Cook, aka Tim Apple, who has led the tech giant since 2011. Cook will move into the role of executive chairman. Tsikiyafa analyst Envision Research says they are confident the new leadership will preserve the company's well-established earnings power and shareholder return mechanisms.
Kim Kahn · Wall Street Breakfast · Jobs report puts Fed hike in focus · 2026-08-30Yeah, so I'm going to push back a little bit. So if the pandemic era SPAC bubble and the bubble in high-growth tech stocks taught me anything, it's that valuation always matters, at least a a little bit. Contrary to what John just said, there are several stocks that I regret not selling on ridiculous valuations during that era. CrowdStrike, just to put the numbers in perspective, CrowdStrike previously targeted 20% long-term revenue growth, like in perpetuity. At the current valuation, that tells us that the stock trades for about 7 times the revenue it will generate in a decade from now. On one hand, growth is accelerating, which, you're right, is rare at this scale. The forward book of business is growing faster than current revenue. That implies acceleration in the near-term. That AI cybersecurity thesis is one that I completely believe in. But the math here is brutal. Even if, let's say, CrowdStrike's revenue were to triple over the next 5 years, which I think would be a stretch, the company would still be at about 12x sales at the current price. So, there's a lot not to like here. I know Tyler's going to be with me on this one. Their stock-based comp is massive enough to completely wipe out that operating income that we talked about. The company actually reports an operating loss on a GAAP basis. Their diluted share count grew by almost 5% over the past year. That's even after some buybacks to help offset it. I would expect a similar rate going forward. Even though they're a leader, they're not without competition. To modify a Warren Buffett quote that I love, CrowdStrike is a wonderful business at an uncomfortable price right now. I wouldn't start a new position here today. If you absolutely want to, it's definitely a great case for dollar-cost averaging into a position. But as an alternative, I recently bought Zscaler. They partner with CrowdStrike, a lot of the same tailwinds, but a much more palatable valuation right now.
Matt Frankel · Motley Fool Hidden Gems Investing · NVIDIA Earnings Blow Everyone Away · 2026-08-27Yeah, I generally agree with John. It's really a case of a rising tide lifts all ships here when it comes to AI. Data centers and, and on-device AI are two totally different things that solve two totally different problems. Plus, I mean, data centers have a few key advantages that are going to help them continue to grow. We've already mentioned the memory problem several times in this episode. The AI boom has made memory for local AI much more expensive, just to name one thing. So data centers, their operators have a lot more room to win the memory price wars. They have more money, they pay more. If you're investing hundreds of billions of dollars, uh, you get priority. Uh, you know, local inference, it's, it's bound by memory capacity, not by raw compute power. That's not the constraint here. So that is a big challenge. But while local AI is not much of a threat to cloud-based AI, uh, to tie it into our earlier discussion, I do think it could be one of the best things that ever happened to cybersecurity. So I mean, think about it, if, if all of your employees' local devices are running their own AI models, there will be thousands of new AI endpoints that you need to secure inside enterprise networks. Uh, so definitely could help companies like CrowdStrike and Zscaler going forward, uh, just to kind of tie it into what we were saying earlier.
Matt Frankel · Motley Fool Hidden Gems Investing · NVIDIA Earnings Blow Everyone Away · 2026-08-27Yeah. Yeah. No, you know, I think so. And you're riding the AI wave. I mean, you're in exactly the right place to be. You were pointing out offline, you didn't mention this on the show, but I saw in the Discord when you were in the club that Copilot does have, besides MD files, it has semantic search. Through a variety of other tools. That's the key, I think, to AI, right? And agentic AI especially is that it remembers, that it has some sort of sense of what happened and what your rules are and what you like and what you're looking for. That's really key. Great to see all three of you. Our show today brought to you by Zscaler, the world's largest cloud security platform. And now Zscaler has AI too. The potential rewards of AI for any business, too great to ignore. But I think we should underscore this. So are the risks. We've talked about it. Loss of sensitive data, accidentally committing those secrets to GitHub, for instance, plus attacks against enterprise-managed AI, prompt injection attacks, things like that. And then, of course, we know that generative AI helps the bad guys. I mean, increases the opportunity for threat actors to rapidly create phishing lures that are indistinguishable from the real thing, to write malicious code, to automate data extraction. These days, if you're a bad guy, you don't know how— need to know how to code. You just need an AI to help you. But though I do think it's important to emphasize that not all of this is malicious activity. A lot of it's just accidental leaking. For instance, there were 1.3 million instances last year of Social Security numbers leaked to AI applications. You know, your employees may be absolutely innocently using AI at work and leaking important proprietary information to the AI. That's why you need something to protect you. You need Zscaler, the most trusted AI security platform. Get this, 40%, almost half of the Global 2000 use Zscaler. That gives you some idea. Zscaler in one day handles half a trillion transactions in one day. 9.4 thousand global customers use Zscaler. They have a net promoter score of more than 75. That's 1.5 times better than the average SaaS, and it's beloved by its users. Just check out what Siva has to say. Siva is the director of security and infrastructure at Zohra. He says this about using Zscaler to prevent AI attacks. With Zscaler being in line in a security protection strategy, it helps us monitor all the traffic. So even if a bad actor were to use AI, because we have tight security framework around our endpoint, helps us proactively prevent that activity from happening. AI is tremendous in terms of its opportunities, but it also brings in challenges. We're confident that Zscaler is going to help us ensure that we're not slowed down by security challenges, but continue to take advantage of all the advancements. Interesting. Thank you, Siva. With Zscaler Zero Trust plus AI, you could safely adopt generative AI and private AI to boost productivity across the business without the risks. Their Zero Trust architecture plus AI helps you reduce the risks of AI-related data loss and protects against AI-driven attacks to guarantee greater productivity and compliance. So in June— so, uh, let's start by saying that there are 4 states: Colorado, California, Kentucky, and New Jersey which are going after Meta, uh, based on Meta's, uh, lack of protection for youth. Remember, Meta lost at a trial in Los Angeles earlier this year. They lost in a New Mexico action. But this one is a big one. Uh, the state's filings are sealed, but this is from Reuters. At a court hearing in June, they said they were calculating the penalties against Meta by multiplying the number of violations by fine amounts set by state law. And the number of violations is calculated using the estimated number of teens and young users affected by Meta's actions. So we don't know the actual number. We won't really find out. There's a total of 29 states involved. We won't find out until August, or maybe not even then, but the trial begins in August. A judge whose name you may be familiar with, Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers. She must be very busy. She was the one who spanked Apple in the Apple Epic case. Uh, at that time in August, uh, the judge will address all the claims brought under law plus the four particular states' allegations the company violated their state laws. Reuters— and then there's 14 other states which have claims under their state laws— but Reuters estimates based on the laws of those 4 states alone. Actually, it's not Reuters. Meta has estimated that the penalty would be $1.4 trillion. Should point out Meta's market cap is $1.5 trillion. So, hey, what are you worried about, Mark? You'll still have $100 million left over. It's not the end of the world.
