Like, one is Neil deGrasse Tyson says that every book is every eyebrow-raising thing he's ever said, because he'll go on airplanes and he'll just talk to people. And when they go, "Ah," then he writes it down. And so I'm doing the same thing for you as I'm looking at your eyebrows very closely. Don't ever get Botox. It'll be so hard to read you. And so if you raise your eyebrows, I want to double-click on it, right? Because you're the tastemaker, right? I know I'm saying things that interest me, but might not interest you. So if you say something, if you raise your eyebrows, I'm going to go deeper or give you an example or tell you a story. And this is why this is not a normal conversation. A conversation doesn't go like this. Those moments go viral, right? Like when you go, "Ah!" Yeah. Those are the replayed parts. Like the Amber Vaart thing. Right. And unfortunately, we're all here because we're trying to reach people. People, right? And so if you are going, "Ah, ooh, ah," and you raise your eyebrows, then I'm going to double-click. So if no one is doing that to you, if you're in a conversation back and forth and there are no eyebrow raises and there's no ooh, ah, wow, and they are either looking away or having that open mouth— and by the way, that's also how I can interrupt someone. If I want to interrupt someone politely, I'll go—

But Ford guidance was kind of shy of what people expected. It's a reminder that in the AI trade, the size of the beat matters far less than whether the next quarter's bar keeps climbing at the same pace that investors have come to expect. And the more you have these blowout quarters, the more that difference matters there. I would even say it's cheap. I mean, it's trading at 20 times price to forward-looking earnings. Uh, you know, I think it's wanting for a catalyst in the, in the near term. I still think it's a great picks and shovels play, uh, and not too expensive, albeit not cheap. Well, yesterday we had a solid discussion, and by discussion I mean just me talking to myself, about the Fed rate hike chances in September and if the warning Kevin Warsh gave in Jackson Hole was just bluster or a bit of a game changer. We also answered a listener question on Tyson Foods, ticker TSN. So if you want to hear the answer to that question or hear more about my discussion on the Fed rate hike expectations, I encourage you to check out yesterday's episode of Invest Talk. Remember, the best way to never miss an episode is to subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. On to today, where we have a bit of a gear shift, I would say, in, in a focus point, because we're going to be talking about Gen Z and their proclivity for sports betting. Rather than investing. It is in a lot of ways a ticking time bomb for retirement savings because a new survey found that 52% of Gen Z investors have redirected money earmarked for investing into sports betting. That's a pretty startling figure. In a lot of ways reveals a generational shift in how young people think about risk as well as wealth building. So this trend has serious long-term implications. For retirement readiness, but also for financial markets as well. Also got a couple other important stories to bring you today, including one on the, the great rent divergence between different geographical areas.

President Trump's executive order sets up an initiative allowing ranchers to sell their products directly to consumers. He says the program will allow ranchers and farmers to process their own food, —a move aimed at addressing the high cost of beef. This is the largest-ever government effort to change all federal rules and regulations necessary to support our ranchers and our farmers. Amy Morris · Bloomberg News Now · Mistrial in Clancy Case, Trump: Ranchers Can Process Their Beef, More · 2026-09-04Saw some notable improvement in order backlog, but the employment component, uh, was largely stable at the same time. We also got initial jobless claims. That was at 206,000 for the week, pretty much online with the consensus of 205,000. And continuing claims came in a bit better, came in at 1779, which is 1.779 million versus 1.789 million. It was the forecast there. Rounding out the week tomorrow, the August employment report, really the last big, uh, data to come in before the Fed meeting. All right, looks like we had a question from one of our web forums on investtalk.com, and it's on Tyson Food, which is ticker TSN. And it says, Tyson has reduced its revenue growth outlook. Should this be an opportunity to start accumulating the stock? Let's pull up this chart here. And Tyson had a bit of a rough year, down 11.7% year to date, down about 8.15% over the past 52 weeks. It is the $19 billion processor of prepared foods. It's one of the largest food companies. They got chicken, beef, pork. Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farms, Ball Park, State Fair are amongst their biggest segments. Rough year, year-over-year revenue flat. That missed expectations. Adjusted EPS was up 9% but missed expectations. GAAP EPS and operating income saw pretty weak, weak numbers. I mean, margins aren't exciting. Return on equity, it's about 2.6% ending September 2026. That's not good. Net margins at 90 basis points, EBIT margin at 2.9%. Uh, you know, they characterized next year as looking a lot like this year. So hoping for continued volume and profit growth. I mean, revenues up 4.7% over the past 6 years on an annualized basis. Most of that is backloaded. This is a name that is all in all a perennial underperformer of, of, uh, the market. It's actually had 3, 4 of the past 7 years be negative. It's only outperformed the S&P in 2021. The chart looks flat pretty much going all the way back to— flat to down going back to 2021. And I think the, the, the bull case for this name is maybe from what I can see, uh, you know, they're seeing good margins on one of their segments, specifically their chicken segment. But I don't know, both revenue and earnings missed consensus.

These cattle constraints that we have seen over the past year are not getting any better as feed becomes more expensive. And so, you know, a mixed quarter where headlines missed. Yeah, the story's a bit bifurcated, but You only got finite capital. So the question is, with your finite capital, do you want to toss it into something here? I would argue that the day— I think it's the day after they recently made an announcement— a couple days, weeks after they make an announcement about poor performance and, and the next year being weak doesn't give me a lot of confidence that there's going to be some sort of catalyst to get it out of this rut that it's been in for the better part of 5 years.
