Yeah, that, that's, that's a good one. I was actually, I visited Malvern Hill for the first time a few months ago. So that's the end of the Seven Days Campaign, just to give everyone context. So in many ways, Lee, I mean, Lee's attacking McClellan really aggressively, he's actually taking more casualties. In many ways, tactically, the series of battles around Richmond are actually going more for the Union, but McClellan basically loses his nerve, and he decides that he's under desperate threat, when in fact, he's, you know, especially at Malvern Hill, where the Confederates attempt to attack this very powerful Union position, is really misguided, doesn't work, and they get kind of a big bloody nose. And you can make the argument that if Lee had just hung around Richmond, he would have actually been in a good, pretty good position. Or, I'm sorry, if, if, if McClellan had decided to do that, right? I think that's a fair one. I think even more dramatic one, though, is, is, is really, you know, after the day after Antietam, you know, the Army of Northern Virginia has kind of barely survived, really. And there are some There are some extenuating factors. I mean, a lot of, some modern scholarship has shown, for example, that, you know, when you look at the numbers, McClellan's army is so much bigger, but it includes a lot of really recent militia call-ups who are kind of very low-quality troops and things like that. But all that being said, the reality is that Lee should have just immediately left because he's barely survived, and McClellan decides to not push, and arguably all he needed to do was push. right? And that's a big critical moment in September. McClellan wins a gigantic victory. You know, does that then put him— we know he has political ambitions, right? Does that put him in a much more politically secure position, right? It doesn't necessarily save the Confederacy, that's wrong, but it changes potentially the nature of Reconstruction in the postwar settlement, right? Because Lincoln and McClellan have big disagreements on how far to take things like emancipation, or even to do emancipation at all, really. And certainly that has, that's kind of part of this whole constellation of questions. Well, if the Union wins, what does that victory really look like?

So let me give one that's kind of applies both to Union and Confederacy. And that's maybe a little harder to understand. It's the importance of seniority to the regular army. Okay, the way it works, okay, in kind of 19th, most 19th century armies is that promotion is just by time in service, really. And part of the reason is for this is because there's a very class, even in the US Army, which is, you know, ostensibly a democracy, the Jacksonian democracy by this point. It's a very class kind of system, right? So the closest thing you'd have to an aristocracy in the United States is really the officer corps of the US Army and the US Navy in this period, right? And so if you assume that people of a certain social class, and the American contest would be basically middle-class people, basically, you know, or sons of army officers, you're assuming everyone's kind of a social equal, right? Then what's the best way of determining who is better and who's not? And kind of one way of of doing that is to simply say whoever was around the longest, right? Up to some, let's say the colonel seeing a regiment, right? So this is a really, really strong principle, right? So how that plays out in the Civil War is that when the kind of the big mobilization starts, the kind of the time of rank, like what's the date of someone's commission, like in that early period is really, really important. Let me give you a really good example of how perverse this can get. So Ambrose Burnside's major general commission, right, is earlier than George Meade's, right, because he's successful in first North Carolina operations. Everyone knows that Burnside is not as successful a general, right, by '63, because he presides over Fredericksburg while Meade wins at Gettysburg. But Meade's major general commission is after Burnside's. So Meade is a junior to Burnside. So what this then becomes a problem is during the Overland Campaign, when Burnside is present as commander of his corps, Meade is also there as the commander of the Army of the Potomac, and then you have Grant over him.

UGI is surging here, up some 12% on this Wall Street Journal report that KKR made a $9 billion takeover bid for the natural gas and electricity distribution company. This does, of course, come amid heightened demand for steady assets to power data centers and AI. And of course, with the backlogs for both natural gas turbines and to connect to the grid, we're seeing a premium placed on existing assets. This, of course, follows the Calpine deal that we had Constellation Energy selling Calpine earlier this year. So once again, those shares are up some 11.5% after earlier being halted on this report that KKR has made a $9 billion takeover offer. Guys.

It marks the first deployment under a $143 million contract covering 17 spacecraft. The satellites launched August 15th at 9:12 PM from Cape Canaveral in Florida. Rocket Lab said it has established contact with all 8 spacecraft, which are generating power and operating as expected. Commissioning is now underway. MDA Space is the prime contractor overseeing the replenishment of Globalstar's existing satellite constellation. Globalstar uses the network to provide direct-to-device communications and Internet of Things connectivity. As for investors, the deployment represents an early operational milestone for one of Rocket Lab's larger satellite manufacturing contracts. Automakers such as Stellantis and Volkswagen are turning to new blends of lubricants as motor oil shortages worsen due to the war in Iran. The Financial Times is reporting that supply chains for the high-quality Group III base oils used to make motor oil were severely disrupted after Iran struck Shell's gas-to-liquids plant in Qatar in March. Prices of Group III base oils have nearly tripled from prewar levels to about $4,000 per ton in Europe and the U.S. Automakers, which ran out of inventories of the high-quality base oils, have since found alternative lubricant manufacturers, but even those supplies remain tight. The president of Colombia has asked President Trump to temporarily lift tariffs on Colombian goods. Colombia is trying to recover from a devastating earthquake that killed at least 289 people. The president, who took office shortly before the magnitude 7.4 quake, said he thanked Trump for U.S. emergency assistance during a phone call on Saturday. He also urged the administration to ease tariffs that are adding to the pressure on Colombian businesses. For investors, a temporary tariff suspension could support Colombia's exporters and reduce economic disruption from the disaster. Agriculture, manufacturing, mining, and transportation companies may face prolonged interruptions as the government rebuilds damaged homes, roads, and other infrastructure. The Trump administration has not publicly responded to the request. The United States has committed $26.5 million in assistance, including food, shelter, and medical supplies. The earthquake last Monday caused extensive damage in western Colombia.

And so I think kind of a coherent global strategy about managing the impacts of El Niño is an interesting testbed for adaptation strategies that would lend itself to wider global warming. And that's something that I'm really intrigued by.

We went to the warfighter, the commander, the Secretary of Defense. This wasn't going to get regulated down to the blinky lights people. Okay, this was going— because this is a new form of labor. Look, our businesses and many businesses that move carefully into AI native are going to quickly realize that the token spend is going to equal the cost of a, of a, of a human employee, of a staff member. And so when you burn these tokens, you better well do it well because you're literally burning someone else's salary up. And so this is literally a new form of labor that's being birthed. This is not tech business. Tech implements— got to have blinky lights going and everything's got to function back there. But this is CEO, this is business leader business. That's how you spell AI. Bringing that whole constellation together is what we do.
