Doesn't matter if the deal was canceled by some governor. But we know the multiple was shrinking. Anyway, because of the chatter, because of the rhetoric, does that mean you need to sell your stocks that are involved with the data center? Be like us in the trust. I think you sell some. You can't be as heavily invested in this theme because the price earnings multiples are not going to expand. And if the dwindling supporters of data centers lose their positions coming election, the people selling these stocks now will look like geniuses after the election. But let's say, how about the money that's flowing into Procter Gamble and Coca-Cola or UnitedHealth and the Hinge Health, the JPMorgans and the Targets. Can the Alphabet, the SanDisk, Western Digital, Seagate, Micron, among others, keep their groups afloat? The answer is yes, because it isn't just these stocks. The list is as long as your arm. Virtually anything healthcare works. Same with travel and leisure. People just want out of data center. And these are the convenient places to put. One saving grace, though, and it's a big one right now. The cost of building a data center is being boosted by many companies constructing these things on spec. Not just the hyperscalers. It's not a coincidence, is it, that the stocks of Amazon, Alphabet, Microsoft, and Meta are ramping, going up hot, furiously, furiously. Bye-bye. See, they're the biggest beneficiaries because they can afford to compensate local communities and get their warehouses full of servers built while the spec builders will indeed get obliterated. And they have the ability again to create that code of conduct. If they weren't such a bunch of knuckleheads, they would. If you get rid of the smaller speculative builders, you get rid of the insane competition that's pushed up the price of everything from land to construction to labor, electricity, and of course, the inside of, of a data center like NVIDIA, which reports Wednesday and has now been down for 7 straight days, I think largely because of worries about data center slowdowns. The Magnificent Four are the winners. All right. How about the Fab Four? It's probably better. I think they'll keep winning as they've been the losers when people extrapolate the cost of building these data centers. Right. They always think, oh, more CapEx, more CapEx. Sell, sell, sell.
Jim Cramer — Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 8/24/26 · 2026-08-24No, SanDisk, Western Digital, Seagate have not been as— let's say that they're more spendthrift. No, I see Nvidia. I mean, how many times can you beat me up on Nvidia?
Jim Cramer — Squawk on the Street · 9AM HOUR: Cramer's Micron CEO Exclusive in Boise, Walmart Tumbles, Oil Jumps and Yields Rebound 7/20/26 · 2026-08-20So, right, this is what's happening. Amazon, Google, they had so much cash they used to buy back, buy back, buy back. Not anymore. They're like, They're like a tapped-out government, okay? They're like a pig. You know, Ireland and Italy. And now, who can do $175 billion worth of buybacks without a problem? Micron, SanDisk, Western Digital, Seagate, SK Hynix, and Samsung. I bet Samsung does a gigantic one. I'm not kidding. SK Hynix does it. They need to do it because they issued here. Next will be Samsung. Am I going to try to get Sanjay on the record? But when he's going to do it, he can't do the US government.

The California AG says the case against Meta focuses on penalties and restitution, not damages. And BTIG says investors should secure a chair before the music stops. If you're wondering what that's all about, one analyst says US equities are increasingly trading like a game of factor musical chairs. Julie Morgan — Wall Street Breakfast · Canada buys 72 hours · 2026-08-19Look, this is the big— I regard the biggest non-data center construction project maybe in the world, which is what Sanjay's got there. Now, remember, there's a big difference between Micron versus Western Digital, Seagate, and SanDisk. The latter three are buying back stock. They're not really putting a lot of money to work. Sanjay's putting money to work like mad, both New York and Idaho. And he is not buying back stock. So I really want to get at the idea of the growth mentality versus the large contracts, give money to shareholders, because one is obviously if you do all large contracts, give some money to shareholders, your cell phone's going to go up. I mean, we need Sanjay to build this. Yeah, but he's high bandwidth memory, which typically goes right into the data center. The stock's down 43%. It was up 40% yesterday. I mean, down 40%, up 40%. But these are the stocks that you have to look at for a turn because these are the stocks that people feel have the earnings momentum. I am, you know, Home Depot was up more than it is now. I think people are just— I mean, what the heck are they saying on that Home Depot poll?
Jim Cramer — Squawk on the Street · Global Bond Sell-Off Weighs on Stocks, Home Depot Beats, Meta Heads to Trial 8/18/26 · 2026-08-18You raise something interesting. We've got, yes, Ulta up, but look what also is up in two it. That's a company that's been supposed— that's supposed to have been savaged by AI. GoDaddy, that's a company that's really supposed to be savaged by AI, even though Walton Goggins, as we all love, is their spokesperson. And then Veeva, that's supposed to be just decimated by AI. And then instead what we've got is all the Leopold names and Seagate, Applied Materials. Leopold, man, he lives—
Jim Cramer — Squawk on the Street · Global Bond Sell-Off Weighs on Stocks, Home Depot Beats, Meta Heads to Trial 8/18/26 · 2026-08-18My mission is simple: to make you money. I'm here to level the playing field for all investors. There's always a bull market somewhere, and I promise to help you find it. Mad Money starts now. Hey, I'm Kramer. Welcome to Mad Money. Welcome to Kramerica. I'll be with my friends. I'm just trying to save you a little bit of money. My job is not just to entertain, but to explain things. So call me at 1-800-743-CNBC, tweet me @JimCramer. This market astounds me pretty much every day. This weekend, in my regular think piece that I send out to CNBC Investing Club members, I marveled that the same memory stocks keep going up and up and up. Many people have been left behind because they think they've already missed these moves. So I have to ask, what if they haven't? So on a day where the Dow lost 273 points, S&P declined 0.52%, Nasdaq dipped 0.32%. That's actually kind of ugly session, mostly because of a rise in oil and interest rates. I would explain how some of these big moves can happen and why they actually might not be over. Front and center, the companies that make memory and data storage products that go into the data center. SanDisk, it's up 653% year to date. Seagate has galloped 261%. Micron's up 254%, and Western Digital's up 211%. These moves are all kind of incredible and definitely crazy. These memory names have become risky. They had been risky boom and bust stocks for decades. There'd be periods of spectacular growth followed by horrendous wounds that would wipe away all of your gains and then some. I always regarded the management teams in this business as financially suicidal because they overbuilt when times were good, sowing the seeds of their own destruction when things got bad. I was always reluctant to recommend them to you because of these wild boom-bust cycles. Then along comes the data center and the world simply changed for them. The demand for memory chips has now become seemingly endless. These companies have all learned their collective lesson. They're not overbuilding this time. They want the shortage to last. Memory is in such short supply that Elon Musk is taking to X to talk about how it's become the key bottleneck to data center growth. Meanwhile, the memory makers, they've adopted this new business models.
Jim Cramer — Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 8/17/26 · 2026-08-17With long-term agreements that lock in huge gross margins for multiple years out with their customers. They're basically building only to suit. They've raised prices to the point that Apple is complaining that they are driving up the cost of your new phone. Can we trust these companies and their stocks? Now, 3 of them are buying back huge amounts of stock in the open market. SanDisk has a $15.5 billion buyback. Seagate's, uh, we're on our way to a $5 billion buyback announced last year. Western Digital put a $4 billion repurchase authorization on this year. They're taking that money and sending it to you, the shareholder, rather than investing in new capacity. Only Micron has no buyback. Quizzical. These used to be smaller capitalization stocks, but in the 2 years since the data center buildout started in earnest, everything has changed. I want you to listen to these spectacular gains. When SanDisk was spun out of Western Digital 18 months ago, it was a $7 billion company. Now it's a $262 billion company. Seagate's market cap has gone from $21 billion to $225 billion in the same period. House of pleasure. Western Digital, $17 billion. It's now at $185 billion. Only Micron was sizable at $106 billion, but now it's a trillionaire.
