So it's over many years, it's over time, but there's no set deadline or timeframe. It is literally bucket one, Nvidia buying memory chips from SK Hynix. SK Hynix has 60% market share in high bandwidth memory, but SK Group with SK Telecom underneath it is a big deployer of data center capacity.. And where do they buy their not just GPUs but their servers from? Now from NVIDIA. So that is— it's a multi-year thing. It won't show up in any one company's one-year financials. But let me just be honest with you, Scarlet, about it. Jensen and NVIDIA, they like big round numbers and it's really normal for them to announce it in that, in that way.
Ed Ludlow — Bloomberg Intelligence · Nvidia’s $750 Billion in Deals Reignite Circular AI Fears · 2026-07-27We're going to be purchasing memories from them for many years to come. And as you know, we buy, we build a lot of computers. In order to build $1 trillion worth of Vera Rubin systems, you're going to have to buy a lot of system memories to go with it. And so we have large purchase agreements and large purchase intentions with SK Hynix. Meanwhile, SK Telecom is going to become an AI cloud. They're going to— we're starting to build already. They're intending to build up to 2 gigawatts in the near future. And in that agreement, we will be selling AI supercomputers to them. So between us, we're going to do half a trillion dollars worth of business, over half a trillion dollars worth of business.

All right, listen, in a related story, by Commandant Howard Lutnick's decree, subject Dario Amadei. Will be permitted to bring his powerful new model, Fable 5, to market for the glory of the realm and at the pleasure of His Majesty Lord Trump. Remember, 2 weeks ago, the US government put export restrictions on Fable and Mythos and the Iliad and the Odyssey and whatever else they're doing over there at Anthropic. And Anthropic expanding Mythos, uh, to 50 unauthorized entities, according to sources. That included SK Telecom, which allegedly perhaps maybe has Ties to China. On June 30th, Howie in the Commerce Department— that's my guy, Howard Lutnick, my favorite in the administration. No disrespect to you, Sachs. Um, he lifted controls on Fable 5. Mythos 5 was restored to U.S. customers this past week, June 26th. Many suspected this would happen because Anthropic replaced Dario as their lead negotiator. Here's the palace intrigue I was referencing earlier. Co-founder Tom Brown, whoever that is, took the spot. And appears to be getting along better with the Trump Organization. For example, he proactively genuflected— showed the tweet— to Lutnick's tweet announcing the export restricting restrictions had been lifted. Tom Brown: Thanks for your partnership on this, Secretary, explanation point. Look at that smile. Tom Brown coming in to save the day. In a postmortem blog post, Anthropic said the jailbreak that triggered the shutdown was not unique to Claude. Remember, Andy Jassy reported to the Commerce Department what was going on with this. Okay, Sachs, former AISR, what's going on? Give us the palace intrigue, please.
Jason Calacanis — All-In with Chamath, Jason, Sacks & Friedberg · AI Sovereignty Wars, Palantir-Nvidia Deal, SCOTUS Birthright Ruling, Newsom's CA Budget Lie · 2026-07-03But despite that, though, I mean, this was a pretty big reaction from the Trump administration. And I think everyone here, especially if you were listening to the Alex demo session, understands what's going on. But this happened within a few days of the model release. If I can give Wired some credit, Wired just reported last night that it was due to Anthropic's relationship with or having given access to the model to SK Telecom. That could have raised flags within the administration. How surprised were you by how immediate that backlash was?
Lauren Goode — Big Technology Podcast · Anthropic's Labs Lead On Fable's Capabilities + Building AI-Native Products — With Mike Krieger · 2026-06-24Now, moving on. And look, speaking about trying to keep this stuff grounded, in fact, it's getting a little bit difficult right now, right. Because We've got this whole story being injected into the news cycle at the moment by anonymous, like unnamed sources in the White House saying that one of the reasons that the White House decided to put an export ban on Mythos was because Anthropic had included a company called SK Telecom in Project Glasswing. So they had given early access to Mythos as part, as part of Project Glasswing to SK Telecom. Now, SK Telecom is South Korea's largest wireless carrier. And the story goes that the White House asked them to revoke access to SK Telecom and they immediately complied. But now they're saying SK Telecom is China linked. When you look at these China links, like $1.9 million in revenue from Chinese interests, they look very weak. I've never seen SK Telecom sort of brought up as a, you know, telco that has concerning links to China. Now telcos with concerning links to China, Rob, were your specialty for quite a long time. What can you tell us about what you know about SK Telecom and any possible China links?
Patrick Gray — Risky Business · Risky Business #843 -- Fortibleed is kinda awesome, actually · 2026-06-24It's hard for me to tell, Pat, because there's also the idea that there's not a lot of technical depth behind some of the policy decisions being made. And so you've got to wonder if they just were out of their depth in this. Right. There's two separate events stacked on each other. There's the SK Telecom revocation and then the Fable 5 guardrail bypass disclosure. Those were two different distinct events. And to me it points back to.
Rob Joyce — Risky Business · Risky Business #843 -- Fortibleed is kinda awesome, actually · 2026-06-24Exactly the same as you, Pat. Like, even when we were looking through the numbers this morning, none of this makes sense in terms of trying to find a big financial link. I mean, if you look over the history of SK Telecom, sure, they've had a rough run with some breaches, but that's not China.
