So I think the world, or at least Wall Street, is anticipating that a lot. Now, look, there are other things that those companies have and, you know, for— you're building something for you. Like if it's for at the individual level, probably a little different than, you know, American Airlines running whatever SAP or something like that's a little harder to figure out what the hell that is. And then, you know, they've got data and, you know, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But still, yet and still, like, that's a real thing where you can chase, you by using GPUs that you don't even own, that Anthropic owns, can chase down HubSpot for your use case like that.
Ben Horowitz · The a16z Show · What Makes a Great Entrepreneur? | Ben Horowitz on Vintage x Vintage · 2026-10-10Look at the areas of the market that are most hitched to the economy and to interest rates. And it's been very painful over the course of the past couple of months. So that's where the information is. In answer to Sarah's question, yes, you could argue, yeah, we have the AI boom. It's just generating 2% growth in the economy. I seem to remember during the internet boom, Now, that was a boom that where it was the tide that lifted all the boats. Do you remember in that internet boom in the late 1990s, GDP growth was 4%, not 2%. We call 2% a boom today. But you see, what's different is that this particular bull market and expansion in AI is sapping the vitality out of the rest of the economy, like not non-data center Construction is running -7% year over year and data construction is up like 60%. You look at technology CapEx up 16% year over year. The rest of the business sector is flat.
David Rosenberg · Squawk on the Street · 11AM Hour: Undersecretary of Defense Emil Michael, Former White House Coordinator for the Middle East & New AI Model Competition 10/6/26 · 2026-10-06They are the powerhouse. And now you're, you're power, you're on a brownout. Your cells are on a brownout. They don't have as much ATP. And it's like you're stressed all the time and your immune system is chronically activated all the time and sapping you of all of this energy. Oh man. And so, so it's, that it's probably not a coincidence that the things we thought probably were going on in these people are the network gene networks that seem to be activated in these people.
Steven Novella · The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe · The Skeptics Guide #1108 - Oct 3 2026 · 2026-10-03It's very promising. That's why I'm talking about it. It's very, very promising. But I'm, again, I'm cautioning, this is exploratory. This is not like we could hang our hat on this. This is absolutely true, but this is a huge clue pointing in the direction of maybe what chronic fatigue syndrome is. Is disruption in the networks of genes that regulate immune activity, stress response, and metabolic function that is sapping people of their ability. Can you think about, again, we take for granted how absolutely amazing our bodies are and the fact that we make enough energy at a cellular level to function and feel good and, you know what I mean? And run a marathon or whatever that people can do. That is amazing how well regulated our body is. And of course there's gonna be times when it's not going to be well regulated because something happened to the body. And fatigue is a really common symptom of life, Christian, because it happens. So many things cause fatigue. Why is that true? Because it's hard not to have fatigue.
Steven Novella · The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe · The Skeptics Guide #1108 - Oct 3 2026 · 2026-10-03Incumbents already have the trust, but this also means they can destroy the trust if they ship something like too early and the product maybe doesn't work or it's bad or it's like works decisions in a bad way. So that's what we can do. And then interestingly, what was really surprising for us, those process agents actually became kind of like a side quest for us. Because when we talk about— when we look at the invoice process, or invoice agents as a process, so we retrieve some information, you match this across other documents, and then you push this back to SAP, Oracle, like a very clear clear process. And then we figured out, okay, that's like 100% of the software market, right? So that's invoice software. That's how you build it today. But it's actually only like 20% of the work of the job to be done of the problem.
Vlad Kile · The a16z Show · Why AI Agents Can Beat the Incumbents · 2026-10-02Yeah, so like, this is like one of, one of the, one of the purchases where, that we can like run fully autonomously and we can do this because of this multi-agent system. So like, first of all, someone has a demand, right? So they need to, somehow communicate it. And even like this part is extremely complicated. So you need to call someone, maybe you like, you open up your laptop because you're like a construction worker, you open up your laptop only every second week. And now you are required to like work with SAP or any other like ERP system. So you can't even like issue the demand. So this is like how we make it very easy. So you like, you take a photo, like you You upload the quote, an Excel sheet, and that's actually everything that you should know about procurement. Like, no one cares outside of the procurement department about like categories, GL accounts, framework contracts. No one cares. We in the procurement will care, but no one outside that cares.
Vlad Kile · The a16z Show · Why AI Agents Can Beat the Incumbents · 2026-10-02Yeah, 100%. And that's a very fair question, right? And like, even if you look like internally at Leo, so like the first use case 3 years ago, which like kind of like went viral in the procurement world was like, just like having a quote and then getting this information into SAP. So like very, like, again, like technically like, hmm, but like tremendous business value. And so you have like this retrieval agent getting like all of the information, putting it into SAP. This was our first product and we had an engineering team, like obviously small, just like the 3 of us or maybe like 4 people building it and then selling it. But this is nowadays, a case study if you're applying to Waggle Leo. So we give this to people to build this and they have like 8 hours to do so. So what I want to say by that is like a product that we, like one of our first use cases can now be somehow built by engineers within 8 hours.
Vlad Kile · The a16z Show · Why AI Agents Can Beat the Incumbents · 2026-10-02And so you can, and, and I'd be curious to hear how Vlad is doing it, but a lot of our companies even are doing that at a, you know, at a rapid clip where more of the customization, A, is being handled in an automated way, and B, the customer is able to turn the knobs and levers around customization via software. Versus, okay, I needed to bring in, A, the original, it was like, you know, you brought in Accenture to do your SAP customization and now it's like, okay, I've got a forward deployed team that's going to build some, you know, help build and spec it out. And ultimately it's going to be completely software driven. Yeah.
Sima Ambal · The a16z Show · Why AI Agents Can Beat the Incumbents · 2026-10-02Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Squawk Box right here on CNBC. We are live from the Nasdaq Market site in Times Square. I'm Becky Quick, along with Andrew Ross Sorkin. Joe is out today. We do have breaking news this morning. NVIDIA is launching the NVIDIA Open Agent Safety Platform. That's a new security software suite that's designed to try and keep AI agents operating inside their set boundaries, their sandboxes, if you will, and quarantine any agent that may attempt to go rogue within milliseconds. NVIDIA, NVIDIA announcing this launch with more than 100 key partners and stakeholders, including Cisco, CrowdStrike, Dell, JPMorgan Chase, and SAP. I think it's also notable that companies like Anthropic and Mistral are part of these. OpenAI is not one of the 100 mentioned in all of this, but the company does say that its platform could have prevented— could have prevented OpenAI's Hugging Face incident back in July. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang is going to be joining us to talk all about this new program.
