And by the way, Max, yeah, so we had two semiconductor companies just report earnings, Arm and then Qualcomm. I'm looking at Arm Holdings. It doesn't seem amazing. Total revenue up 22%, royalty revenue up 22% as well, 23%. Like, these are good numbers. And like, Arm basically having exceptionally high profit margins, having a royalty on all chips that are created, or, you know, most chips that are created. Is an exceptional business model. So I'm, uh, I'm not bearish on Arm. I don't own the stock individually, but I have been paying attention. You know, it was in my view very overvalued at like whatever, you know, it's been cut in half. And, um, so I was considering looking at it. Of course, Arm is the leader in semiconductor licensing intellectual property. The other players are Synopsys, Cadence, and, uh, Rambus. And of course, you know, so many semiconductor companies like Nvidia, they have vast, vast IP. They just you know, don't really, um, you know, license it, or they don't have— you can argue that that is NVIDIA's whole business model is licensing its, its, uh, its designs. But, you know, they sell it. They don't, they don't just like collect a little 1%, 2% on top. But, um, ARM is, uh, yeah, it, uh, seems like a kind of a meh quarter. Um, let's look at Qualcomm. And then, oh, by the way, Max, in terms of semiconductors, KLA, one of the— it's definitely the semicap equipment name that I know, uh, the least, but They're like mostly testing. They had a quarter that last— last reported last night. It was not that good. I like, for some reason, I think like the hedge fund people love KLA so much more than, you know, ASML or Lam Research. And I think it's because they think that KLA has a high percentage of recurring revenue just because, you know, everything constantly needs to be tested. And I guess that's true. But that, that, I think that means that their revenues can increase the least, as opposed to ASML and Lam Research, because, you know, they could, uh, they could sell a lot of machines. And of course, the most extreme example of that is, uh, you know, Micron and SK Hynix. SK Hynix reported, reported last. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jack Farley — Monetary Matters with Jack Farley · Mum’s The Word: Kathryn Rooney Vera on Fed’s Second Meeting under Kevin Warsh, Plus Earnings Breakdown (Live Replay) · 2026-07-29And what about the IP licensing business that Synopsys, and to a lesser degree Cadence, have the big leader in this, of course, is Arm that IPO'd like 2 years majority owned by SoftBank. And then the other players, I guess, are Rambus. But, but I've heard this bear argument on IP licensing, like Nvidia, they have all these geniuses working at Nvidia. They're not going to be paying Synopsys or Cadence or Rambus or Arm to do all this stuff. I mean, maybe they will be paying Arm, but that's a different story. But what do you— and at the same time, if that argument is wrong, the royalty-type business has a, you know, gross profit margin quite close to 100%. That's an extremely good business from a business perspective.
Jack Farley — Monetary Matters with Jack Farley · The Semiconductor Earnings Boom Is Just Getting Started | Ben Pouladian on why AI is Real, Nvidia is Mispriced, and Capacitors Are Overrated · 2026-07-14Hi, I just got a quick question about Rambus, RMBS. Wanted to see what your take is on that stock. Thank you very much. Love your show.
Steve Peasley — InvestTalk · Is India the Best Emerging Market to Invest in for 2026? · 2026-07-10All right, looking at Rambus, RMBS. This is a name that always always brings back memories for me because it's been around a long time. It's been a public company for a long time. They go all the way back— 2007 was when it IPO'd, and it started off gangbusters, really, all the way through until 2011. It rallied from in the 80s all the way to a high around $130 and fell off a cliff after that. It's been in a long, long downtrend. Oh, I'm sorry. I lied. That was a different chart. Scratch all of that. Scratch all of that.
Justin Klein — InvestTalk · Is India the Best Emerging Market to Invest in for 2026? · 2026-07-10I thought this was '97 is when it went IPO. Yes. This is one of those dot-com bubble. That's why I was confused. Like '97, that seems too recent. And it was '97 is when it went IPO. It was one of the big stocks during the tech bubble. Went from an early '99 or late '99. Actually, it was one of the last stocks to really rally. It rallied from about $16 all the way to high around $126, peaked. It's been a long downtrend ever since until 2018 when it bottomed around $6. It's been rallying pretty much ever since. Now we're trading at around $114 and change in a nice uptrend. Has pulled back recently, but the overall trend is higher. Earnings expectations for this year $298 and then $374 next year, which would be an all-time high. Now what do they do? They develop semiconductor memory architecture, and this is really for data-intensive computing systems focusing on data centers and AI infrastructure. So their business is, is booming, as you would imagine. Revenues up 27% last year, so let's see, up 16% this year, then 20% next year. Their balance sheet net about a billion, nearly a billion and a half in cash in their balance sheet. So very clean on a $12 billion market cap. Free cash flow about $330 million. Their operating margins right now are 35%, which is the highest it's been in the last decade. It doesn't typically have this level of profitability, and that was probably my biggest worry. That has pulled back from high around $175. Now, like I said, around $114. So kind of had that sentiment reset. Return on equity is good. I like this. I'll say this, I like this better than like a Micron or SanDisk. I much rather own this type of name with clean balance sheet, more consistent earnings long term. As you go back over the last decade They haven't had the boom and bust cycles. So if you're trying to play the memory space within AI, these are the type of name— this is the type of name that I would own. It would be a good diversifier if you own a lot of Micron or SanDisk, any of those, those memory stocks. So I'm going to give Rambus a thumbs up. Thanks for the call. Hey, we had a great show yesterday. We looked into the story concerning defense tech stocks in 2026. We explored whether this may be the new growth sector investors have been waiting for. We also answered listener questions on Google or Alphabet. The question was submitted by a listener to our program on AM 1220 in the Bay Area. And if you listen or you happen to miss it, excuse me, go check it out. Best way to get every show is to follow Invest Talk wherever you get your podcast. Now we have a lot of ground to cover over the next 45 minutes or so, and time permitting, we're going to get to all of it. And the main focus point is about India. Is it the best emerging market to invest in for 2026? As AI, the AI trade gets choppier, investors are looking for alternatives to mega-cap tech concentration, and India is emerging as a serious destination for capital seeking growth without the AI boom and bust risk. We'll look at that topic and much, much more, including the jobs market. We had a jobs figure in June that was weaker than expected, but that was following 3 straight months of pretty good jobs figures. So which one is telling the true story? We'll look at that. Then we'll look at tobacco stocks. Tobacco companies have been shifting away from actually cigarettes into what we call smokeless tobacco. Could be more vapes, it could be more chewing tobacco type of products, things like that. And how is that industry evolving, and what does that mean for investments within the space? Then lastly, HSP is pulling back from riskier private credit lending. What does that also mean for that sector or asset class in general, but also what does that mean for the broader economy as well? So we'll dig into all of those stories. We also have voice bank calls on stock splits and then Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, KTOS. We have some questions that came in via the comment section on the Invest Talk YouTube channel as well. But as always, we're going to head into our first break, first real break. Please join me on the call anytime. Leave your question on the Invest Talk voice bank, or if you're listening via our live stream on investtalk.com or possibly on AM 1220 in the Bay Area, You can call right now at 888-99-CHART and talk to me. Up next, I'll comment on today's market activity.
