  1. It's interesting because it sounds like it's just more difficult than one would assume to actually get the data to even start the process of this ontology layer and mapping the entire business. And what's really interesting to me when I look at the numbers for Palantir is that there was actually a period of time here where growth slowed down a lot, and that was pre-AI, I guess, pre-ChatGPT at least. And we just talked off the record about why that happened. And you said that the entire process of onboarding and using Palantir was so complex that it really hindered their growth. And so if you look at the growth chart now of Palantir's revenue, you basically saw growth decelerate from 2019 through about halfway through 2023, where year-over-year revenue growth was as low as 12%. But then from there on, it's accelerated dramatically like a rocket ship. And we're talking about 100% year-over-year growth, doubling revenues every year.

  2. Everybody says time travel because they think that time can only be one-dimensional. But imagine, for example, that you put a giant gun on a rail car. The rail car can only move in one dimension. Now somebody puts a giant gun on something like a tank and you go to the Bonneville Salt Flats. Now you can move in two dimensions. Now you put it on an A-10 Warthog and you can move in three. Those are all spatial dimensions. Why do you think there's an arrow of time? It's because you believe time can only be one-dimensional. I don't think time is one-dimensional. And I, if you meet an adversary who has access to multi-time, it's like you're trying to compete with them with an A-10 Warthog and you've got your only gun on a, on a track, except with time rather than with space. If I could sneak up behind you in time, knowing your intent, I mean, this is terrifying stuff to me. And it's also like, I would love to have this over our adversaries. But I don't want to meet anybody who knows how to do this kind of stuff, not on a level playing field. Let me say another one. The solar system is an escape room, and Elon is focused, was focused on Mars. I said that Mars is a red herring. It's a MacGuffin. Tonight he's focused on the moon. He is our only adult, so far as I can tell, crazy and mad as he is. And he uses that to motivate engineers because Mars is barely doable. These are the only rocks that are potentially habitable. It's not enough diversity if we have this much power and these few spheres with which we could put atmospheres. So assume that you could put atmospheres on the Mars and on the moon, and you could get back and forth between them with chemical rockets. You'd have 3 places to screw up. We need tens of thousands, if not millions of places before we figure out how to civilize ourselves. So we have to get out of here. It's too expensive to leave the solar system. So my claim is that in an Einsteinian world, you're never going to. If Einstein is left to be enforced, the speed of light is too brutal.

  3. Okay, but let's assume you're wearing a fucking leather jacket. You do care what people think. Okay. All right. Talk about space. You don't have to be specific. Talk about robots. Because if there's a new leg to the Nvidia story, not that it needs one with 99% earnings growth, but if there's going to be expansion of the TAM or a change the subject from ASIC competition. It's going to be automation and self-driving cars and rockets and data centers in orbit and robots. Let's talk about robots because that could be a whole new TAM that's not in the stock or not meaningfully in the multiple. Um, I don't know if they'll do that, so I would just tell people who are in the name going into this quarter. Of course, anything can happen and Michael and I don't know, but over the last 26 quarters they've reported, so that's back to Q1 2020. So half of those quarters in the AI era, 12 times the stock has moved up or down by 5%. That's remarkable, which means it almost never does a thing. If you look at the average next day return it's +2% after an earnings call over the last 6 years. But there were 2 massive reactions skewing that. In May of 2023, it was plus— the stock exploded 24%.

  4. So some context here. So first of all, I'm old and I was here for the dot-com boom and bust. I was also here for the GFC boom and then bust. And I've been a technology investor my whole career, which spans 3 decades now. The second thing to say is that I am an absolute absolute huge believer that we are very early in the AI cycle. Now, by that, I don't necessarily mean stock prices. I mean, the actual technology that exists today, I think, is fledgling. The penetration across the workplace and across consumers of AI technologies beyond simple chatbots is It's barely, barely scratched the surface. And so I think that we are a couple of years into what is truly, truly the next industrial revolution. And for anyone that doubts that, I would encourage them just to dive in and pick your LLM of choice and get it working in an agentic capacity. Have it write you a website, have it improve your own work, Have it do some financial modeling. Treat it, you know, if you're an investor like myself, treat it like an analyst or an associate or a VP that might be working for you. And the response you'll get from it, particularly as time goes by and it learns what you're looking for and it learns how to do things better, nothing short of remarkable. And that's on this v1.0 technology. So I think that companies like NVIDIA, Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Perplexity, all of these names are in the early innings of their, if you like, unit growth. You know, the number of tokens being served is going to rocket in the coming years. Unit growth in semiconductor, in hardware systems, in software used to deploy and control and configure AI data centers is also a thing. In its early stages of unit growth. The stock prices of these things, as always happens, has obviously run a fair bit ahead of unit growth. That's normal. So at some point, these things will correct and they'll correct hard. And we haven't seen it yet, but we will at some point see, you know, a dot-com type correction. But, you know, everyone's terrified of a dot-com correction, but, you know, we already had one in software.

  5. I think that may be a little difficult given 2028, you start to have— they've taken 70-80% of incremental compute and I'm not sure what happens to markets then. Right. You know, how much does the price of compute skyrocket for them to actually be able to buy 70-80% of compute? Is, you know, Google or Meta or Amazon willing to sell even that much? Also, one caveat when we're sort of talking about these gigawatt numbers is, you know, when Amazon is serving Bedrock Anthropic models, that counts as Anthropic compute in sort of our worldview because it is effectively at the end of the day counted as revenue for Anthropic, even though like there's a revenue share and credit back, all that. But ultimately in 2028, it's, it's, you know, if they get to 100 gigawatts combined, they have done really disruptive things to the market because anyone can make money off of $10 to $15 million per megawatt compute today. You literally, like, I kid you not, it's not that hard. Go get a GB300 rack, go download the KIMI weights, go download VLM or SG Lang, set it up. You know, Codex and Fable can actually help you do this. It's pretty simple. I mean, it's not like it's, you know, it's not trivial, but it's not like rocket science and go put it on OpenRouter. It's very simple. And you'll start generating more revenue than you're paying for the compute. And so this is sort of already led to this compute pricing, $10 to $15 million per megawatt, start to inflect up. And to get to that 100 gigawatts in 2028, you have to believe that the labs can outpay for compute because anyone can make money at $10 to $15. You know, does compute now get to $25 million a megawatt? Does it get to $40 million a megawatt?

  6. With like a rocket test tube-ish spotlight looking thing. And it's incredible. There's like oscilloscope waves in the back. It is the most incredible thing. It has this dictionary in the back. Imagine the the first time someone explains a computer and the dictionary, the, the dictionary is, you know, arithmetic unit, binary digit, bit, you know, like cathode ray tube, electrostatic storage tube. And you know, I, but, but the thing is, is that the reason I open this, 'cause there's one cool page that really matters. What is the organization of digital computers? And so this is the thing that, that I gets to this point about abstraction for us and AI.

So what we're seeing now is, you know, we're seeing the, just last week, I think it was, you know, the US went out there and tries to, you know, is trying to fire the bazookas and Gatling guns at trying keep of US dollars at trying to float the yen. And you know, that carry trade's been a thing and, and you know, they got to keep this yen from crashing. And so, you know, the cracks are all in the foundation as far as oil goes, the Strait of Hormuz, I couldn't quite place why exactly was there this inverse relationship. Like normally war equals strong gold prices because it's a fear thing. Right? So it's instability in the world and you go, okay, so war and conflict should equal higher gold prices. Why was it that, you know, Iran, when that was announced, why did that automatically? And every time there was a peace deal announced, every time there was like the strait was opening up, then gold would surge. And then as soon as, you know, rockets get fired back and forth and missiles and drones and all this shit, and the rhetoric started to gain, you know, to get a little more toothy, a little more scary. Then suddenly gold prices would collapse again and everybody's going, oh, you know, and it was because of this whole oil situation you're talking about. And I think that now with, you know, peace talks on the horizon, a deal looking in the mix, that's why we're seeing a lot of this resurgence in the gold. It's clear everybody wants to buy gold. but that, that's always going to be a thing. You know, what is oil worth per barrel in ounces of gold? You know, it's, it's, it's still relatively cheap. Like it's extremely cheap actually. So gold is, you know, $4,000 an ounce and oil still flirts with, you know, $80, $90 a barrel. And so is that, you know, in, in terms of if, if gold is your currency and that's what you're buying oil with, It's never been cheaper, you know, so, so, so there's got to be an equilibrium hit there. So there's a lot to watch. You know, my thesis is hold strong, keep doing what I'm doing, you know, pirate gold. Let's keep discovering.
