Julie Morgan · Wall Street Breakfast · Trump's ballot box bonus plan · 2026-09-10Up next, we'll get to earnings from Five Below, PVH, and Victoria's Secret and why Wells Fargo is calling one of those names one of the best in consumer. Plus, next hour, we'll look ahead to Tesla's planned Cybercab event and whether it can be a catalyst for that stock.
Mike Santoli · Squawk on the Street · 10AM Hour: Snowflake & HPE CEOs, Is a Rate Hike in the Cards? 9/3/26 · 2026-09-03Welcome back. 3 big movers we're watching. First up is Five Below, just turning lower after a beat and raise. Net sales up 23% year on year. Several firms hiking their targets, including Wells Fargo, which calls the company one of the best in consumer. Another consumer name is PVH, owner of brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein. Earnings beat, but the Q3 guide is a little light. They project revenue to decrease low single digits compared to the prior year. They do, however, reaffirm the full year. And then there's Victoria's Secret, down earnings beat but revenue missed estimates. Company slightly raising its full-year sales expectations, which were in line with the midpoint of Wall Street estimates. Stock's been a big winner over the last year, more than tripling. And the CFO says we continue to benefit from stronger regular price selling and disciplined execution while navigating ongoing tariff uncertainty. There are A ton of names in consumer today. Probably on the downside is Tyson lowering the guide on some of the turmoil in beef. And then Campbell's is just nothing good to say about the quarter or the past 20 years.
Carl Quintanilla · Squawk on the Street · 10AM Hour: Snowflake & HPE CEOs, Is a Rate Hike in the Cards? 9/3/26 · 2026-09-03Good Thursday morning. Welcome to Squawk on the Street. I'm Carl Quintanilla with Jim Cramer at Post 9 of the New York Stock Exchange. David Faber has the morning off. Summer is not going quietly. Tons of news today from Nvidia buying Hugging Face to Broadcom, Snowflake, Microsoft, Costco. Yields are lower, equities up as Waller does say he would support a hold in September and that underlying inflation is better than core suggests. Oil, though, still stubborn. 6-week highs. Brent gets within $3 of $100. Diesel within a nickel of all-time highs, $5.77. Our roadmap begins with NVIDIA, though, open-source AI play buying the AI platform Hugging Face for nearly $13 billion. Broadcom's under pressure. Soft Q4 guide does overshadow some strong growth on the outlook and a slew of other earnings. HPE, $5 PVH, Campbell's. We will do our best to get to it all. Let's begin, though, with NVIDIA confirming that it has agreed to acquire Hugging Face. This is Jensen Huang with Becky last hour making the case for the deal on Squawk Box. Our fundamental goal is just to make sure that AI advances as quickly as possible. And it's really, really important right now as the open models are really accelerating that we make sure that we provide Hugging Face the platform to continue to scale and for the resource for them to scale and extend the open model ecosystem and community. Jim looks to close first half of next year and the coincidence of this announcement and Broadcom and that whole mess of custom versus open really getting interesting.
Carl Quintanilla · Squawk on the Street · 9AM HOUR: Nvidia Buys Hugging Face, Broadcom Falls While Snowflake Soars, Diesel and Pain at the Pump 9/3/26 · 2026-09-03I was like, oh, okay, well, if he's good with it, then— but they came through and took it, you know, and stuck it in their new museum at headquarters, I guess. Supposedly— I don't know. Or they threw it in the trash, you know. Knows, you know. But, um, it's actually— there's a— yeah, there's a funny story, this whole disguise thing. Like, um, at the time, uh, PVH, you know, or the, the CO of SEAL Team 6, pulled Jeff and I in. He's like, you guys are, uh, my disguise guys. I'm like, uh, I wouldn't call us disguise guys. We just wear them from time to time. Case there's a nanny cam, you know. And he's like, yeah, whatever. Here's the deal. Can you disguise a troop of guys, like, you know, with masks and stuff? And he's like, well, whatever. I'm like, well, no, probably not the mask because it takes, takes 6 months to build those things, you know, or whatever it is. I said, we could probably use, uh, you know, some, some LA guys. And he's like, yeah, yeah, okay, figure it out. I want you to take 22 guys and get them disguised. Like, as what? Like, I don't know, Afghanis or something. We're like, okay. So I call up, uh, the first guy I called was Stu Siegel. Okay, Stu Siegel Productions. He, he, uh, we used him in the AFO course and he is a producer that was in LA. He decided to open up his own production studios in San Diego. And he had sets and he had an Afghan village that looked real realistic, and we can run scenarios there with actors and everything and really get guys squared away on blending in or building rapport, right, for some of the things that require communication. And, and so I call him up, and he's famous for all the '80s cheesy TV shows. Those. So Pensacola, uh, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, remember Renegade? Yeah. Um, Hunter, uh, Silk Stocking Murders, right? He produced all those in San Diego. Um, his claim to fame though was, uh, Jeremy the Hedgehog. He started in porn. So Stu was a, was a porn producer and made Jeremy the Hedge— is that his name? Jeremy the Hedgehog famous.
