  1. Birthrate, much better than Europe. We also had more immigration. So younger workers coming in, paying taxes, et cetera. So we're about 10 to 15 years behind Germany in the demographic curve. So when you see what's going on there, that's what's coming for us. Now, our Social Security system or pension system is a little bit less generous than what you see in Europe, but it is fairly similar. The big difference though, it's less generous on the Social Security side or pension side, but it's our cost of healthcare is way higher. And that makes our fiscal trajectory actually worse because of the Medicare side. Everyone talks about Social Security, but it's really Medicare, Medicaid. That is what is driving the inflation costs. So how do you get that? How do you keep that at bay is the big question. But the main point is their trajectory is very similar to ours. Now, how does this impact your investments in the markets? Well, first off, rising bond yields. So we talked about the crowding out effect of all the hyperscalers and them issuing bonds and, and sopping up all the capital that's now pushing rates higher on the long end of the Treasury curve. But that's happening around the world in developed markets where they're having to tap the bond markets more and more. They need more capital, and Germany is one of those. So they're also pushing up yields because they are demanding more capital to plug their Social Security hole or their pension hole.

  2. Straight back at you, and I really appreciate like all the support you've shown me. Like, it doesn't go unnoticed, man. Like, it, it really means a lot, and Yeah, if I could just do a little self-plug real quick. Like, I've got my channel, Michael Button, search it up everyone and check me out. But I've also— I just started a second channel, uh, called Patterns of History, because I'm really interested in— once we move into recorded history, it's really interesting to see how when the silence lifts and we have these ruins we can cross-check and these dates we can kind of match to different civilizations. It's so interesting how civilizations seem to follow the same patterns all over the world of rise, collapse, fall, and things like that. And it applies today. I think we see the same patterns happening, and civilizations always think that they're more advanced— and there we go, thanks— and better than the ones before. But right, I mean, it's another fucking— I could go on for another 3 hours on that. But it's so, it's so interesting how we see the same recurring patterns happen throughout civilizations across recorded worlded history as well. So that's like another little project that I'm, I'm working on. But I'm still, uh, I'm still going to go as hard as I possibly can on the kind of archaeological lost history side.

  4. So, of course, Andrew, efficiency is important. You know, we want to be energy efficient in how we use AI. But at the end of the day, we're not going to efficiency our way out of this issue, right? Between now and 2028, the demand for AI in America is 70 gigawatts, and we can only plug in 30 gigawatts of data centers onto the grid. At the same time, China just built over 500 gigawatts of new power capacity last year, 10 times what we did. We're not going to outbuild our way out of this supply-demand gap, but we can outsmart it. What Emerald AI does is makes the AI data centers flexible. We should continue to use lots of power for AI, whether it's low-token models, high-token models.

  5. Yeah, this is a great one because folks can utilize Town for their personal use case and it's a free, you know, trial. They give you, I think, something like 40 credits to start or something around there. And so, you can kind of see it once you plug into your personal email, how productive it actually is. On the professional front, I'm always inbox zero. On the personal front, my inbox is like 20,000. David George is probably cringing on the inside here just 'cause that is unacceptable. However, you know, personal life things are common. So, if you email me on my personal, I will never respond to you. However, I plug Town into it and like, I don't even check it anymore. If there's something important, Town will surface it to me. And also it does all the scrubbing of like subscriptions and all the things that it can optimize. And it's starting to now self-improve upon itself. So like it'll send you emails where it says like, hey, this routine is costing this much. Like, here's how you could actually save your credits by this. So it's sort of this, this unlock into what starts on the productivity side. And to your point, maybe people won't pay for that personally, but once it starts to get locked in and then expand in terms of the remit, you're like, okay, I'll pay the whatever. Xbox, you know, just because it helps to manage my life and I can put it on autopilot.

  6. Are you plugged into a good church there in Las Vegas? Yes, I am. Okay. Have you talked to your pastor and the, the counseling team about your situation? No, no, you've not. You need to today. Okay, it's their— it's their obligation to help you. It's what they live for. They're gonna want to help you. You have 5 kids and you're on a shoestring budget, okay? And they can. So let's kind of go back to your original question, and then let's walk— walk you forward out of that. So first thing we're gonna do is get some people around you. The second thing we'll do is get them to help you a little bit with some of this. I don't expect them to pay it all off or anything, and you don't either, okay? Student loans and IRS are not bankruptable. Repo is not collecting today. And the— what was the $14,000 again? My previous attorney. Oh, that's an old attorney. He's not collecting today either. Either. He's waiting because he knows you're broke. Probably be surprised when you pay. Credit cards, you've probably not been paying on them because you've been dumping everything into this child case. So the really, the two that are the most pressing are the $600 and the $3,500. Agreed? Yes. Yeah, because you're really not doing much with the rest of it. Yeah. So what I would recommend is not paying anyone and clearing the title loan as soon as possible. And if the church can help you with that sum, I think that would be awesome. And get your car back, because you're going to need that. And then we'll argue about what we're going to do settling with the payday lender that screwed you, but you walked in there and asked for it. And I understand why, but you still did. And so we've got to clear that little $600 up before it becomes $1,820 minutes. Right, right, right. And then we'll begin to work through the rest of this. Here's the neat thing: the student loans just sitting there on hardship deferral. Just call and put it on hardship deferral. I'm not paying anything right now. Besides that, you're in school, you said. What are you doing in school?

  7. Yeah. And if it's lower stakes, that's okay because you can try a few ways that don't work and then maybe find a way that doesn't or no harm, no foul. But this is why, for example, Microsoft just recently essentially pulled the plug on their Copilot digital assistant for their Office suite. You know, 3 years ago they announced like, oh, we're gonna use OpenAI LLM LLMs so that you can now have a natural language interface into programs like Excel, like PowerPoint, like Word. At the time, I was like, this is a killer use case for LLMs because they tend to parse human language very well. Hey, I don't have to learn how to use all the features in Excel anymore. This would be great. I could just explain in words like, I want to sort this table by the values that are in column C, and I don't need to learn how to do that. It will do that for me. Well, they pulled the plug on that product more or less. And in part it's because, like you're saying, it's not perfect. And sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. And you can't, that's not, you can't put that in your product. You can't have it like, I ask it to do something and sometimes it does and sometimes it deletes the chart. Right. And so like, that was a pretty narrow domain. Like what could I ask PowerPoint to do? Um, and even there they're like, ah, and I thought that was going to be the killer app. I wrote about this 3 years ago. I was like, this is going to be the killer app. App is natural language interface in the software. But that's been very delayed because of exactly this issue, this plausibility versus normativity thing, is that it's just, it's wrong too much for it to be a product like that.

  8. Well, I think particularly as we go forward with AI and so forth, we're gonna have to be better critical thinkers. You know, we do. But thanks for the kind of the plug. We did, we had to do this movie a couple years ago with Errol Morris. It's actually an Errol Morris film called "Tune Out the Noise," which you can get on YouTube. But the principle is pretty straightforward. We're inundated with data now, much more so than any of us growing up ever were, you know. But there's a difference between data and meaningful information. And so, you know, trying to sort through, how do I focus on getting meaningful information, I think is a challenge. It's gonna be even more of a challenge going forward.
