Chipotle has partnered with Palantir. The burrito chain has enlisted Palantir for a platform that monitors pest incidents, employee illnesses, and other factors The partnership comes after a nightmare summer for food safety across the US. Good news. Good news for both companies. We want safe food. We want burritos that don't make us sick, especially if they're coming before I even think to order them with burrito superintelligence from one of the companies. It feels like it's a race now. The DoorDash guy was talking about building it and then the— and then that other entrepreneur just did it.

Can you just explain what this is and why it makes you skeptical about all this?

Sarah Eisen · Squawk on the Street · 10AM Hour: DoD’s Emil Michael on AI Fears, Fed Decision on Deck, C-Suite Warns about Fuel Prices 9/16/26 · 2026-09-16I think they actually are worried about open source. Open source. If you look at what NVIDIA has done with Neutron in conjunction with Palantir, they're there. That combination is impacting the frontier models pricing and availability. If you look at some of these open source models, whether you're using Gwen from Alibaba or Nemo from NVIDIA or, you know, any of the open source models, those token costs go right through the floor. And to some degree that, that influences to a great degree what the frontier models pricing model looks long term. So I would say it's a a strategy to put open source in a box from a regulatory standpoint. And my personal opinion, that's very dangerous.
Ted Monastirnoff · Bloomberg Surveillance · Bloomberg Surveillance TV: September 15th, 2026 · 2026-09-15On Thursday, we're going to talk more about the rising chorus of AI warnings when we are joined exclusively by Palantir CEO Alex Karp here on the show, 11 a.m. Eastern, Squawk on the Street. Always worth listening to him. I mean, he's warned in the past we don't want to— we don't want to let our enemies win. So very eager to hear from him on these new— the new Dario post with Sam Altman agreeing and Elon Musk as well. Here's our roadmap for the rest of the hour. The crypto industry looking for clarity. We'll talk about today's today's big Senate vote and what it could mean for the whole crypto complex.
Sarah Eisen · Squawk on the Street · 10AM Hour: Treasury Sec. Bessent Testifies, Thermo Fisher CEO, Morgan Stanley’s M&A Outlook 9/15/26 · 2026-09-15Mine is 15%. It's an absolute cap. So no individual company can be 15%. You say 70% of your portfolio is in Musk stocks, then you have a lot of Tesla in your portfolio, well above 15%. But you got to do it with open eyes, which is you can't have regrets. What I mean by that is there will be stocks you sell that will double after you sell them and you're saying, I wish I hadn't done that. So here's my suggestion: selling all of it is going to be too much. It's going to be too much on a tax basis, it's going to be too much emotionally. Do it in stages. So sell a quarter of your Tesla stock, you know, put it on autopilot. Every 6 months I'm going to sell a quarter of my Tesla stock no matter what the price is. Because if you have to think through whether this is the right time to sell, you will find a reason not to sell stocks that have done well for you. It's human nature. You hold on to your winners, 'cause they've been so good for you. And we have the same kind of relationship with our losers. We hold onto our losers because we hope things will turn around. So sometimes you've got to take these decisions out of your hands and put a limit sell. So one of the things I use is limit buys and sells when I know I will not have the stomach to make the decision myself. There are stocks I love, but I don't like the price they're selling at. And 3 of the stocks that I track are BYD, Palantir, and MercadoLibre. 3 companies that I like for very different reasons. But when I first looked at them, they were all overpriced. I valued them, which required that I kind of get comfortable with what they are as companies. And I put limit buys at prices well below today's price without an expiration date. You're saying, why would you do that? Because if they drop by 30, 40, 50%, they're dropping for a reason. There's going to be a lot of bad news around them. You will not feel ready to buy because you're surrounded by bad news. You're surrounded by selling.
Aswath Damodaran · BiggerPockets Money · Aswath Damodaran: Why AI Needs $10 Trillion in Revenue to Work · 2026-09-15Everybody, Palantir, Anthropic, OpenAI, the collective revenues from selling products and services. So no contamination from leasing. So that's not fair, right? Because that's just the factory being leased across people building. This is the actual stuff being sold from the factory. There's only $250 billion collectively. That's a bad The good news is it could be huge. So now let's ask a question. How huge can it get? And that requires dealing with an existential question about AI. What is AI going to do? Let's take a business. Let's take McKinsey. Let's assume Anthropic comes up with Claude consulting agents, which will help McKinsey consultants. It's a tool that makes them more productive. It's a cost to McKinsey, right? McKinsey will pay for these tools. But because it's a cost on top of their existing consultant pay, it can't be huge, right? It can't be billions because, you know, if you're paying $800 million in consultants, you can't pay another $800 million on tools because then where are your revenues going to do? So it's going to be, if it's a tool, it's a relatively small number. So already if AI is just a tool, the potential revenues you're talking about is much smaller. I'll give you a sense of what that collective number, the maximum it can look like. Last year across the globe, around the globe, the collective amount paid to employees in salaries, wages, compensation, all the good stuff collectively was $26 trillion. Every employee in this private and public companies across the world. So let's say AI's pipe dream is it can replace every employee at every company. I'll tell you in a minute why this is going to be a nightmare for the rest of the world, right? But potentially revenues could be up to $26 trillion. They're probably going to be smaller because why would replace an employee with an agent if the cost is the same, potentially up to $26 trillion. But here's why the story crashes and burns almost instantaneously. If your end story is AI will replace every employee, it's true, that's a lot of money. But then all these employees who are now displaced have lost their jobs, right? And their incomes and their consumption power.

Amy Morris · Bloomberg News Now · Trump Slams Anthropic, Carney Says AI Needs Guardrails, More · 2026-09-14Well, David, Sarah, and Carl, the slowdown and how that could manifest for chips, that is really front and center this morning. And the note that's getting a lot of attention is the one from Morgan Stanley. Analysts there believe that slowing Frontier AI Labs actually won't lead to semiconductor orders declining. They're pointing to the quote from Anthropic CEO Dario Amadei, who says pacing AI does not mean halting model training yet. The market still thinks it will with NVIDIA, the entire semi sector trading down today, off by 20% from their recent high. The larger concern is that a slowdown will lead to a delay in data center. The timeline there, higher inventory of GPUs ultimately increasing the cost of the buildout. Now that's actually playing out with the Neo Clouds. Reminder that Oracle just reported earnings and when asked about the pipeline, executives there did not see any impact. GE Vernova CEO Scott Strazik will need to address similar concerns when he speaks at the industrial conference on Wednesday from Morgan Stanley. That company, along with Caterpillar, Vertiv, Eaton, all of these that are tied to the AI CapEx boom, you can see are trading down at this hour. We spoke to two bankers who are expecting more debt sales in the coming 6 to 8 weeks from the hyperscalers. Case in point, Amazon just raised another $6 billion in debt last week, testing the European market, which Google did as well a couple of months ago. The expectation, guys, is that the rush to secure more debt is motivated in part by politics. Yes, but also the speed at which Treasury yields have risen. Now, you guys talked a lot about some of the names that are up today, the potential beneficiaries of an AI slowdown. Worth noting, software, the IGV up about 3% right now. Salesforce ahead of the Dreamforce conference kicking off. And Palantir. Remember, this is a company that saw a 150 50% increase in its commercial business. It works with companies to build their own AI-native solutions. If their Frontier Labs are slowing down, this is seen as one of the bright spots, one of the beneficiaries.

So there is a competitive issue here, right, where especially when you think about sovereign AI, a lot of the stuff Palantir and others are doing, I think that, that will be— I think investors will view it skeptically relative to OpenAI and Anthropic. Two, this is not stopping one penny of money that's going into the data center and the AI CapEx. And I think that, right, you'll have a knee-jerk reaction in terms of stocks. But as investors digest it, the reality is China is not slowing down. US tech's not going to slow down.
