But look, we have NVIDIA revenue up 2x, hyperscaler CapEx up 2x, OpenAI and Anthropic's valuation up 2x, SpaceX up 2.5x in a pretty nasty backdrop. This is not about multiple expansion. This is an earnings driven market expansion. We've seen multiple contraction this year. Earnings are up 26%, of course, driven a lot by AI infrastructure, but the multiple on the NASDAQ and the S&P is actually down. Look at NVIDIA trading at 14 times next year's fully taxed GAAP earnings. This is no bubble like it was in 2000. NASDAQ, S&P, SOX, NVIDIA, all trading well below their average multiples. Okay, Mag 7 basically in line with its average multiple, but not everybody is winning.
Brad Gerstner · All-In with Chamath, Jason, Sacks & Friedberg · Brad Gerstner: No AI Bubble, Semis Eat the Nasdaq & AI's Take Off Problem · 2026-09-17The other thing I probably missed in my original pitch for Alphabet is where a chunk of this demand was coming from, and that's specifically for their computer chips. And so Google designs its own AI processors called Tensor Processing Units or TPUs, and they're already on their 7th generation of the technology. And so for much of TPU history, they were used as an internal cost-saving tool specifically for Google. And so that has allowed them to bypass buying chips from Nvidia or to at least reduce your dependency on Nvidia. But since the TPU has proven successful, you've had select companies that have actually been offered the opportunity to purchase Google's TPUs outright from them.
Preston Pysh · The Investor's Podcast (We Study Billionaires) - The Investor’s Podcast Network · TIP847: Alphabet (GOOGL): The Megacap That Still Might Be Underrated w/ Kyle Grieve & Shawn O’Malley · 2026-09-17Yeah, I think the biggest one is probably the vertical integration part. So you mentioned here earlier, Sean, that Alphabet has developed many of its own chips, including the Tensor Processing Units. Now because of this, it skips to some degree this kind of NVIDIA tax that pretty much all of these other companies are forced to pay. Now keep in mind, NVIDIA is a very, very good company. It has 65% operating margins as well as pricing power, So, you know, that's great for NVIDIA, but obviously it's not so great for its customers. Now, Google doesn't necessarily have that same issue. So Google's tensor processing units come in at about a 40% discount to the NVIDIA equivalent. And as we've seen with Anthropic's deal with Google, it just makes more sense for many of these AI businesses just to rent compute power from Google rather than building it out on their own.

I heard Rene before this and he said there's a lot of room and it's a big market. He's going to make money and Nvidia is going to make money. It's going to work in cybersecurity as well.

Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 9/16/26 · 2026-09-16Not as bad as the ex-Anthropic researchers, who said humanity faces a death sentence 4 years from now. But still pretty bad. The solution in his eyes, a slowdown in AI development, lots of intervention to do things safely because we need to ensure that this kind of intrusion won't happen. Slacking the pace, basically. Now, I got two hats on this one. First is my stock picking hat where I want to help you try to make some money. From that perspective, I worry about how an AI spending slowdown could hurt all sorts of companies like NVIDIA, Intel, Micron, among many others. Those are ones that the clubrooms. Call me more nutritious, but I have a job to do— help you save money. Second, though, there's my human being hat. Not my top priority right here. But when these companies are talking about an existential threat to the human race, it's something I can't ignore. Now that I've studied this issue, that's what a lot of times I've spent out here. I believe that some regulation and guardrails are necessary here. But if these entities feel like they have to slow down spending, hey, they don't need to wait for the government. Stop the slowdown. Just Hey, spend less.
Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 9/16/26 · 2026-09-16I'm not going to say if Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic are worried, then they should slow down. They understand their own issues. And if we want some sort of combination of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Atomic Energy Commission, and maybe a watchdog like the International Atomic Energy Commission, count me in. But otherwise, I stand with NVIDIA's Jensen Huang, who argues that these execs are responsible. They'll do the right thing to prevent the throng of unauthorized agents. I think they'll do it if only to protect themselves from mass tort litigation, lack of anything willingness to— who's going to insure them? What I'm not so sure of is what happens if a foreign enemy unleashes its own swarm of agents. For that, I have to rely on Palo Alto, Okta, CrowdStrike and others to be one step ahead of the enemy. Historically, it's been a safe bet. I like what I heard from these companies this week. Now, how about my first hat, the investing hat that worried about data center spending? I think the spending will proceed apace. Anthropic's just making so much money and OpenAI is not far behind. You give them $10 billion worth of gigawatts and they can make $30 billion. They're not going to slow down the important parts of their business.

You'll have different perspectives, particularly from the chief information security officer. Sure. Some people will not use Chinese models at all. Most of those Chinese models are typically run on US inference, Neo Clouds, and they're incredibly capable. We use them internally. We have backed companies that are using them. We think open source is an absolutely essential component of the, of the, of the ecosystem going forward. And I'm excited to see, you know, the Meta models, the Gemma models, Clearly NVIDIA is pushing quite a bit with the NeMoTron and the acquisition of Hugging Face plus the Poolside semi-acquisition, let's call it. Yeah. So it's essential. I think one key question that hasn't yet been answered is if an American company fine-tunes a Chinese model and runs it on US infrastructure, does the market perceive that both economically and politically as a US or an American model or as a Chinese model?

But right now, why buy the pick and shovels when the actual companies that they serve are trading at a discount to them? Matt's right, Modine is pretty cheap for a pick and shovel, but you can still— there, that 22 times earnings, compare that to Alphabet. And you know, why not just buy Alphabet? And that's— I mean, as boring as my answer is, my answer would be the Nvidias, the Alphabets, the Microsofts, mostly because they have multiple ways to win. I don't need it.
