Strategy ($MSTR) podcast mentions
And this is specifically because, so we've already seen the pattern of we fight the last war and then a new war comes. And this is just how everything goes in technology and real wars. You know, in World War II, they started out fighting it like it was World War I, and then they had to like change that strategy as they went. The difference with AI is that there comes a level in the AI where when you get a new war that surprises it kills you, the AI wins that war. No other technology, when we invent it and we have all these rough edges to sand off and it causes some damage and kills some people and we're like, ah, whoops, we'll take the lead back out of the gasoline and we'll tell the radium girls to stop licking the paintbrushes until their jaws fall off. No other technology has the property that there comes a level of it where when you make the next screw-up, it kills humanity. Humanity.

Speaker I · Bloomberg News Now · Fed Raises Rates to Curb Inflation, Trump: Rates Should Be 1%, More · 2026-09-17There's also another twist that I didn't anticipate when I first looked at Alphabet because it wasn't totally clear yet that Apple would take a more passive role in the AI race. And choose to use other companies' models. But for context, in January, Apple announced that it would pay Google something about $1 billion per year for access to the technology that underlies Gemini to use that to power Siri for the next few years. And what that also means is that Apple is going to rely more on Google Cloud too. And so obviously that $1 billion in cash annually is not material to Alphabet's bottom line, as crazy as that is to say, But I think it's revealing in what it shows about Apple's AI strategy and also in how the two companies are becoming even more intertwined and in different ways.

Scott Becker · Becker’s Healthcare Podcast · Stacey A. Rizza, MD, Medical Director for Global Commercial Solutions at Mayo Clinic International · 2026-09-16Yeah, yeah, they're doing RSI. They're doing RSI. Everyone's trying to— I mean, RSI can also mean so many things. It can mean, yeah, you looked up the— you summarized some archive papers for new strategies. Like the automated research intern is in part an RSI initiative. It's not the final RSI loop, the closed loop RSI that people are really worried about, but it's all gradations of this. What does David Sachs think about this? I imagine that he's a fan. He says Mark Zuckerberg, he just quotes it. He says Meta delayed shipping Muse for several months to focus on safety. Yeah, Sachs is very much like, if you wanna slow down, go right ahead. And so he is fine with that. Anyway, the reviews for Muse are really good. Garage Sons.
John Coogan · TBPN · Third Party Evaluators, Fed Hikes Rates, Zuck Pushes Back On AI Slowdown | Jeremy Allaire, Tomasz Tunguz, William Layden, Justin Beroz, Eli Wachs, Sean McCarthy, Tom Mueller · 2026-09-16It's unclear why the— why Commerce is worried about the nascent market, which aims to do for AI computing what oil futures do for crude, let buyers and sellers of compute lock in prices and give traders a way to bet on where those prices go. Now, the markets were always a little thin. You know, these new markets, they tend to be sort of thin and they tend to be more speculative, just people that are trading them. On vibes or news, not necessarily used by the actual companies like oil futures. Those will be actually employed in Treasury strategies by airlines. And big, big firms will trade those in size. But that's what Kalshi and Tarek were pitching as where this all goes. I was a little skeptical that it would wind up on Kalshi. I thought that they could have a decent chunk of the market, but I thought a lot of it might just go to insurance companies, and reinsurance companies and sort of like the traditional financial rails that do these types of deals. But nevertheless, it's going away and let's figure out why.

Okay. So on model routing, it feels like some of the work that you do, it's going to wind up looking like fraud because you're— you're— a lot of the prompts are like sort of sketchy adjacent, even though they're the opposite and you're actually fighting the financial crime. Your prompts are going to look financial crime related. You might get flagged, you might get, you know, refusals. Have you solved that by fine-tuning models using open source or partnering with labs and doing deals to get whitelisted? Like, what is your strategy for maintaining access to effective intelligence to fight these crimes?
John Coogan · TBPN · Third Party Evaluators, Fed Hikes Rates, Zuck Pushes Back On AI Slowdown | Jeremy Allaire, Tomasz Tunguz, William Layden, Justin Beroz, Eli Wachs, Sean McCarthy, Tom Mueller · 2026-09-16What do you think about that in terms of strategy though? How do you think about, how do you design for that strategically to say, we're going to be, somebody's gonna punch it into ChatGPT and say, whether they're taking that to the advisor or the advisor's doing it, how do you, how do you actually strategically position for for it?
Matt Zigler · Excess Returns · Franklin Templeton CEO Jenny Johnson on AI, Private Markets, and the Hidden Risks in Index Funds · 2026-09-16But we've also, we think anyway, developed a pretty good strategy around how are we gonna start to implement some of these other technology changes and more importantly, put some good governance around how they're being applied so that we can look things from a whole system perspective as opposed to kind of the theme of a lot of different silos around the system. So overall, I think that it's going very well. A big focus for the rest of the year is really on, for me personally, is on some care model redesign, specifically the primary care space. With some of the changes, regulatory changes that are coming, some of the work that's required is, you know, how do we fix the access problem? I know it sounds a little dramatic, but I think one of the existential crises we're dealing with in healthcare is that we just don't have enough providers to see the patients that we have. So we really need to start to combat access, get more patients in to see our providers, But there's just not enough providers to do that.
