  1. And here's what you need to know this morning. Visla Copper has released what it says to be the longest high-grade copper intersection ever drilled at the Woodjam Project in central British Columbia. Hole 136 at the Deerhorn deposit returned 266 meters creating 0.97% copper from a depth of 30— 306 meters and included 107.7 meters of just over 2% copper and a high-grade core of 48.5 meters of 3.32% copper, 0.23 grams per tonne gold, and 16.5 grams per tonne silver. It's sitting approximately 100 meters below the existing historical resource model and open in multiple directions. The hole also intersected a near-surface interval of 129.9 meters at 0.3% copper from 70 meters depth. Bisla Copper trades on the Venture Exchange with VCU and on the OTCQB with VCUFF. More copper exploration results. Corex Copper has reported results from 19 infill drill holes at the Haib Copper Project in southern Namibia. It was headlined by hole 167, which returned 969 meters grading 0.27% copper equivalent from surface. It's the longest continuous mineralized intersection drilled at Haib to date. Other results reported this morning included hole 185 of 236 meters of 0.57% copper equivalent, and hole 177 returning 30 meters of 1.1% copper equivalent from just 8 meters depth. The 8,500-meter infill campaign is nearing completion, and Corex says results continue to trend to the upside ahead of a mineral resource update expected later this year. They trade on TSX Venture with the symbol KRY and on the OTC QX with KRYXF. Freegold has released additional drill results from its Golden Summit project near Fairbanks, Alaska, and it— as it advanced towards a pre-feasibility study. Hole 2638 returned 143.7 meters grading 3.59 grams per ton gold from a depth of 758 meters, and there included 3 meters of 141.3 grams per ton gold associated with visible gold in quartz arsenopyrite veins. Nearby hole 2630 intersected 523 meters at 0.75 grams per tonne gold from, uh, 385 meters to end of hole and remains open and widening at depth. 6 rigs are currently active across the 29.1 million ounce resource at Golden Summit, with a pre-feasibility study targeted for next year. Freegold trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange with FVL and on the OTCQX with FGOVF. K2 Gold has reported results from 613 rock samples at the Morningstar target.

  2. Welcome to Seeking Alpha's Wall Street Breakfast, where we cover the top news for investors every morning. It's good to be here with you on this Wednesday, August 26th. I'm Julie Morgan. Target fell nearly 4% on Tuesday after the retailer pulled a controversial Halloween costume. The product, sold as the Kids' Glows Under Blacklight Circus Clown Halloween Costume, prompted backlash on social media as some consumers said it resembled a racist caricature evocative of minstrel shows. Target issued an apology, saying in part, "We know this is especially hurtful for our Black guests, team members, and partners." In an internal email viewed by Reuters, the chief merchandising officer echoed Target's public apology, telling employees the item "never should have been in our assortment" and that the company would "learn from this and do better." An analyst with Morningstar said the share drop reflected the fragility of Target's competitive positioning. Noting that it relies on consumer relations and shopping experience to compete with retailers like Walmart and Costco that win on price. SpaceX plans to develop a $100 billion Starship launch and production complex on about 125,000 acres near Pecan Island, Louisiana. Starbase Louisiana is expected to include 5 launch complexes with 2 pads each, along with propellant production, power generation, vehicle processing, and employee housing. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027, with the first launch targeted for 2029. The $100 billion project will give SpaceX another base for Starship operations, alongside its existing South Texas site and a planned facility at Cape Canaveral, Florida. The Louisiana location would support southbound launches over the Gulf of Mexico and missions into near-polar orbits. According to the president of SpaceX, the project could create 3,000 to 10,000 jobs. The company and Louisiana also plan to restore coastal wetlands and protect wildlife around the site, which previously belonged to ExxonMobil before being returned to the state through a legal settlement. And something that continues to show up on our list of trending topics: Walmart has added a contactless payment system including Apple Pay at select stores and Sam's Club locations. It rolled out earlier this week with further expansion planned for later this year. Tap to Pay at Walmart will allow shoppers to hold a credit card, phone, or smartwatch near a card reader to send payment data instantly without swiping or inserting a credit or debit card.

  3. And not surprising news. I mean, I think this is well understood at this point. Morningstar had a report. These innovative ETFs have been disastrous for investors. The average leveraged and inverse single stock ETF has proved costly as regulators see comment on new table games possibly coming to the ETF casino. I mean, duh. No shit. Do you know on Robinhood now you can gamble on what Bitcoin will do over the next 15 minutes? Gosh, remember zero date, zero DTE options that expire the same day? That was quaint. Uh, there was an article in ETF—

  4. this, this, the Morningstar, the, the— I'm not surprised that these, that people are having a hard time in them and they're not working for people. Like, the, the losses have been huge, but the losses in the ETFs themselves are still pretty big considering we're in a bull market. Now, some of these are inverse, but it said the median single stock ETF has lost 38%. And the companies have earned over $500 million in management fees because the management fees are higher on these.

  5. Leslie. Hey, David. That's right. The recent rout in long-dated government bonds creates a mixed but increasingly riskier backdrop for the direct lending cohort within private credit. And that's because on the positive side, the loans they make are usually floating rate and priced off of a spread toward the long end of the curve. That means higher yields for limited partners investing in these types of private credit funds. And that dynamic drew an explosion, if you recall, in assets under management during the 2022-2023 era as the Fed raised rates, helping bolster profitability for the industry as well as those limited partners who were invested. Now, on the flip side, the more interest paid to private credit to service the floating rate debt, the bigger potential dent to credit quality. A new Morningstar report showed that borrowers are already facing margin compression, with 64% in that camp during the first half of the year compared with 57% a year ago. That pressure is contributing to higher leverage ratios across the system, with the proportion of borrowers rated as distressed also rising, thanks largely to those in the tech sector, particularly software there. Additionally, if borrowing costs stay high, the private credit funds that use leverage to finance themselves— they take those warehouse lines from the banking system— will pay more, reducing the benefit of some of the higher fee income. As bonds sold off this week, so too did a proxy for direct lenders, an ETF of so-called business development companies, down about 0.6%, which hold private credit. Those BDCs declined a bit, but shares of the alt managers, they sold off even more, down as much as about 4, 6% for Apollo there. These funds also have private equity exposure, of course, which is an asset class whereby higher rates are broadly a headwind. Plus they're lower on the capital structure. So if borrower health goes itself. That is not— doesn't bode well for private equity as well, guys.

  6. Bye. Sure. So, you know, I think you can't really look at ETFs through the same lens of how you look at a company because ETFs are generally more diversified ways to invest in some sort of asset class. Maybe you want small caps, maybe you want the aerospace industry, maybe you want software names. And so the way that you should be looking at whether or not an ETF is one you want to invest in is a multitude of things. You know, there are companies like Morningstar that give them grades which are good, but you really need to dive in and understand what those ETFs are investing in. So if I'm looking for a small cap US small cap fund. The S&P 600, which is— calls itself a small cap index, has a lot of mid-cap exposure. So if I purely want small cap exposure, that's not where I should go. Your question should be, how good of a job does this specific ETF do at attacking the asset class or theme or whatever thing I'm trying to invest in? That's number one. Number two, do I understand what it's doing? Is it a black box of investment? Does it do a good job describing? Is its investment strategy sensible in how it's attacking that asset class? And then also a really important thing as well. How much am I even being charged for this? If you're investing in US large caps, you shouldn't be paying more than 15, 20 basis points if it's broadly diversified. EM, 60, 70 basis points. Understand the different asset classes demand different costs. All of these things are critical to know when choosing an ETF. Thanks for the call. This is Invest Talk. I'm Luke Gureiro. 7. Uh, yeah, roughly. Yeah. I think the final results came out in 2021 from the 2020 drilling. Uh, but yeah, it's, it's been a while. We were going through the EIS process, but, uh, that's all behind us now and we're moving through. This is, uh, you know, I think we're just over 2,500 meters of a 14,000-meter program on the first pass through this. And then we'll, uh, make some moves to move up to the Morningstar target and start testing that, which has never been drilled in recent history. And we've got, uh, a 2-kilometer-long trend there with You know, I think it's really important when you think about Mojave that this is— there's— this is a massive system, right? It's a 6,000-hectare property. Uh, we're over— it's 100% owned. Um, you know, there's potential for a world-class deposit here, and that's why we put the effort into permitting this. If this was something average, you know, K2 is a member of Discovery Group, long track record of success here, and, uh, you know, a very strong team behind me, and we would not have have put the effort into permitting this project if we didn't think it was something really special and unique. And I think when you're thinking about world-class projects and, and what it takes to get there, I think you got to consider grade, which we definitely see, and the ability to continue making new discoveries and advancing the project. So it's— we're focused on this 6.5-kilometer-long Eastside Gold Trend, uh, but this is part of a, a very big system. We've got this—

  8. and it's a true polymetallic system. When you look at, uh, the Morningstar target area, that's a a silver-gold-copper system. So surface samples there grading over 2,000 grams per tonne silver, up to 13 grams gold and 3% copper. That's in one rock sample. So very interesting area. And then we're really excited about the Flores target area, which is an extension of the Eastside Gold Trend and has never been drilled. That's where Chris Taylor previously cut a 40-plus meter channel sample. Grading almost 4 grams. So lots to test, a lot of, uh, a lot of room for expansion here, and just good to be back on the property drilling and seeing these results.
