Zuckerberg is very smart, but she's very savvy in telling the story. I think Amazon is going down because you can disintermediate Amazon with Muse. Muse is the thing that really can do everything for you. Everybody is very excited about what this product can do. I mean, David, it's not just booking travel. She has put together an idea. It's a pact. It's what all these companies should do. And it's about lowering the cost of electricity. When they come to town, they're going to lower the cost of electricity. Obviously, there were actors at the very beginning who were getting these subsidies. That's over. But if she can get that really declaration that everybody has to get behind, it would make things so much easier. But they have to recognize that there is no way that you can keep electrical— that you can raise prices. You can't even keep them the same. You must lower price. It's something she says they can do. And I'm with her on this.

Houthi forces have reportedly captured Perim, an island in the middle of that vital strait. This is— talks between the U.S. and Iran do not appear to be on the table, but plans are underway to hold a meeting on Monday with Persian Gulf states and Iran to discuss regional issues and the outcome of Iran-Oman negotiations on safe shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz. Food prices are expected to increase for the rest of the year due to rising energy and fertilizer costs as well as tariffs on imports. Companies from ConAgra to Campbell's are planning to raise prices on certain products, including frozen dinners and meals, to maintain profit margins. Spice and condiment maker McCormick& Company has said it expects higher prices to bolster results in the second half of this year. Campbell's says it plans to raise prices by 4-5% on about 60% of its products. Products, mostly meals and snacks. That's news when you want it with Bloomberg News Now. And then I noticed that Dave McCormick had a surprise and I know that they have been hanging out a lot. And so I thought, oh, it's gotta be Fetterman. It just was sort of, you know, putting it together from a strategy point of view. But I had heard that it was gonna happen from someone pretty good. Fetterman introduced his fellow Pennsylvania Senator, Dave McCormick, and said he was willing to work with Trump. I don't know what it meant, the appearance This fueled more speculation that Fetterman might switch parties, but he shut that down. I don't think he's going to do that. In the statement, he called himself a lifelong Democrat and said that Dems flip the Senate, he's staying put. He's probably going to lose his job. He's much— the numbers for him in Pennsylvania are really devastating, but he's still got a couple years on his tenure. It comes in the heels of a Wall Street Journal report that he has shown little interest in day-to-day work of being a senator. He really likes being on television. He wouldn't meet with veterans. This was a devastating report.

And, you know, I've heard from lots of people in Pennsylvania, they're not getting their constituent services that, say, Bob Casey would have done, or others, even, even McCormick. Um, he seems to like to be on Fox News quite a bit. Um, not like— it's a disease of a lot of those people. But any, any thoughts on this?

Speaking of something that was pretty appalling, Trump is sticking to his latest story about what he did in the aftermath of 9/11, insisting his latest account is exactly accurate. Trump's version of events has evolved over the years, but here's what he said earlier this week.

And it's also, you know, again, you can't really underscore the good personal relationship that Dave McCormick and others like Katie Britt have taken with Senator Fetterman in the last year or two, especially as his own party casts him out. And I guess kind of I'm perplexed by the kind of the stance among many mainstream Democrats. Fetterman votes with the Democrats, I think, at probably worst, 75% of the time, 80% of the time. Right. So contrast how Democrats treat Fetterman with someone, how our party treats like a Susan Collins. I'd rather have Susan Collins to be my friend two-thirds or three-fourths of the time. And on certain issues, just like Fetterman does on the left, say Israel, for instance, with Fetterman on the left. Yes, he does break, but he's a pretty reliable Democrat, Democratic vote. And they're driving him from the party just like they did Sinema. They're repeating the same mistakes on this. And, you know, I think they'll be ill-served in '28 when he's up again for reelection.

I mean, as a counterpoint, I have some, some commentary from the Barclays Back to School Consumer Staples Conference is also going on and it's not as rosy there. I mean, we know Kraft Heinz has talked about consumer weakness, consumer in the US and around the world still, despite some competing headlines about great job growth and other things, is under pressure. McCormick, the spice maker, the consumer backdrop, particularly in the US, is increasingly challenging. Kimberly-Clark says middle to lower income households are under increased pressure. Mondelēz CEO at the conference said there are some challenges. So I do think it matters where you sit. These are, you know, these are sort of the premium brands. We haven't heard much about trading down, for instance, to private label. But that is one area where we continue to hear like the consumer is not all that great.
