According to Berkshire's latest 13-F filing, it bought $17 billion worth of Alphabet stock in the second quarter. That made Google, the Google parent, the third largest holding in Berkshire's equity portfolio, which is worth more than $36 billion. That holding. Berkshire's biggest stakes are in Apple and American Express. About 60% of the more than 48 million Alphabet shares that Berkshire added came in a private placement sale that the companies announced back in early June, but it was buying in the open market as well. And in other moves, Berkshire added to its position in Delta Air Lines and, and in Macy's. It also added to its stake in the homebuilder Lennar, and it bought back shares of Berkshire too.
