So the alpha or the juice, if you will, is in predicting the uncertain because, all right, if I turn this light on, if I flip the switch, most likely the lights will go on. No one's gonna pay you to tell them that. They're gonna pay you to give you an, to provide an informed position. And the thing about, predictions is it's not being right that matters. It's catalyzing an interesting conversation that results in better outcomes. Okay, I believe that a third of Levi's sales will be done online by 2010. I was wrong. I made that prediction in 2000. Levi Strauss and Company was my biggest client. I was in a— I had a strategy firm for 20 years. You're in the business of trying to create or fashion a future. And your job isn't really to predict the exact future. It's to create a series of possible scenarios such that you can plan against that future with strategy and resource allocation, the best foots to a number of different outcomes.
Scott Galloway · The Prof G Pod with Scott Galloway · Why Young Americans Are Rejecting Capitalism, and the Money Behind the Obesity Crisis · 2026-10-05GOP just won. Weight loss drugs are part of the equation, but so are the habits of the younger generation who simply haven't been converted into heavy beer drinkers like their parents. I think it's a belief that any kind of alcohol is just bad for your health. I'm an everything-in-moderation kind of guy, but my generation simply drinks more than the younger folk. And you know what it is? I think that alcohol is truly aging out in this country. Wednesday night, we hear from Levi Strauss, terrific denim company. Its stock has fallen from $25 in July to less than $20 today. This decline is typical of what happens in this particular tough market because of higher gasoline and higher interest rates. People expect a big slowdown in discretionary spending. They're not going to buy any more jeans. I have no real answer for this kind of situation other than to say that Levi's has continually, endlessly executed with a high bar. Speaking of burdens, on Thursday morning, we have one of the most problematic earnings reports imaginable, that of PepsiCo.
Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 10/2/26 · 2026-10-02From 2023 to 2025, their revenue rose a 19% compound annual growth rate. And in the first half of this year, Reformation's sales growth has accelerated to 27%. When the company reported its formal second quarter results earlier this month, revenue was up 24% and management noted that this was their 21st consecutive another quarter of double-digit revenue growth. I see you probably asking, well, great growth, but are they making any money? Reformation's had solid gross margins in the mid-60% range. In the latest quarter, they came in at 66.7%. These numbers have been a bit noisy thanks to the Trump tariffs, the Supreme Court's tariff refunds, but now most of that seems settled. For comparison, Ralph Lauren, which I consider to be the gold standard, has gross margins around 70%. Levi Strauss is now in the low 60s, Gap's in the low 50s. If you want a newer age fashion play, Revolve, we used to have them on, also in the low 50s. That makes Reformation pretty darn profitable by comparison.
Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 9/30/26 · 2026-09-30When my first big consulting, this is the best engagement in the world. When I was right outta business school, I met a guy named Warren Hellman and he said, I've got a great assignment for you. I want you to come to every Levi Strauss and Company board meeting. I don't want you to sit next to anybody. I don't want you to talk to anybody. I want you to listen. For 2 days, and then I want you to stand up and tell us exactly what you think. I was 27. Wow. This was the best consulting engagement in history.
