  2. Hi, this is Adrian from Texas, and I had a question regarding KDP, Keurig Dr Pepper. Is it a good time based on the financials to get in?

  3. It's like KDP, which is Keurig Dr Pepper, an interesting combination of drinks, I would say. For those of you don't know, Keurig, of course, the coffee company, Uh, they do marketing, manufacture, distribution of not just coffee, but a whole bunch of, uh, IP they got. They got Dr Pepper, which is obviously in the name of the company. They got Canada Dry, they got Snapple, A&W, 7-Up, SunQuist, Sunkist, Squirt, which is one of my favorite sodas that nobody seems to like. It's grapefruit soda. Uh, and a bunch of other products. Now this company is a $45 billion market cap company. It's about 16.35% year-to-date, up just under 12% over the past 52 weeks. And it was really ranging for a while between $30 and $40 per share, then it dropped off in August of last year. It has since climbed up back a little bit to $32.59. Taking a look at the financials here, because the most recent earnings were reported on August 6th Net revenue had a beat by about 90 bps. But the— you— so this is, this is a great example. If you look at this, you see revenue in 2024, $15.35 billion. Revenue in 2025, $16.6 billion. Revenue in 2026 expected, $26.3 billion. You look at that and go, whoa, what is going on here? Well, it's almost entirely due to JDE Peet's acquisition. Now being consolidated. So the legacy sales was up 7.3%, but the net sales is up 75.6%. So it's really important to dive into these numbers and understand what the growth looks like. And so this period, it becomes a little, a little bit confusing. Now in terms of guidance, they guided, uh, upwards, uh, on the total net sales, including about 8.5 $5 billion of that from this acquisition. The legacy business is expected to grow 4 to 6%. They're expecting and hoping towards the high end. And you saw a modest, modest reaction on the day. You saw a bit of a pronounced jump, but it started to taper off after the most recent earnings. Now it's ranging back in the $32 level. Now, I don't want to diminish the beat, right? It is a beat on both top and bottom line and reaffirming your guidance. But there's a bit of tension here.

  4. You have the core US coffee business and it's softer than a lot of the market anticipated. Then you have that revenue growth being purely acquisition focused. It's not organic strength. So the real story here when you say good earnings is less about this quarter and more about how cleanly the integration proceeds ahead of the planned split in 2027. So I would take a step back. I would want to see what the growth is in their traditional segments for another quarter before I would look to enter a position here. And in terms of valuation, I mean, it's trading far below its average, near its low end, for a reason. That is Keurig Dr Pepper, ticker KDP. Thanks for the call. 5. And I, again, I suspect that there were a lot of smiles in, you know, around Olipop because of what it could mean for you in the future. I mean, tell me about, about the, the vision for the future of the company. I mean, you know, I, I think most minds are like, oh, well then Coca-Cola may, or another, you know, Keurig or some other big brand is gonna wanna acquire you for even more down the road.

  10. Welcome to Seeking Alpha's Wall Street Lunch, our afternoon update on today's market action, news, and analysis. Good afternoon. Today is Tuesday, August 11th, and I'm your host, Kim Kahn. Our top story so far, it's the AI identifier you can't erase no matter how hard you try. Anthropic's new models released in the European Union will now embed watermarks in all AI-generated and edited content. The changes stem from Anthropic signing the EU AI Act Article 52 Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-Generated Content. They will apply to all new Anthropic models launched in the EU on or after August 2nd. Generated text will carry embedded watermarks, and generated files will include digitally signed provenance metadata where supported, Anthropic said. Marks will apply to output from supported Claude models across Claude Platform, Claude, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, and Claude Tag, and wherever Claude is offered worldwide. Claude marks the content through watermarks embedded in its text and signed provenance metadata attached to files. Because the watermark is part of the text, it will travel with the text when it's copied and pasted elsewhere and may persist through some editing, Anthropic said. Watermarking will be applied at the model level, which means it will be present no matter which Claude product or surface the text comes from. Among active stocks, Sea Limited is rallying sharply after a Q2 revenue beat, helped by strong growth across e-commerce, digital financial services, and gaming. Rocket Lab is down after the company signaled a narrowing window for the first flight of its Neutron rocket, raising the possibility it could debut in 2027 instead of this year. The company said Neutron remains on schedule to reach the launch pad in Q4 but stopped short of maintaining its previous target for a first flight before year-end. And Hims Hers Health is down after posting a surprise Q2 loss as operating expenses shot up 48%. The company posted a loss of $0.37 a share, with analysts looking for a profit of $0.32. In other news of note, Keurig Dr Pepper's 7UP brand is going through its first major refresh in more than 15 years as the company looks to redefine the $5 billion lemon-lime category with a lime-led reformulation. 7UP formally changes the drink's flavor proposition from lemon-lime to lime-lemon.

  11. Well, so what I would say is by, in listening to Ingenie and amp, is that people will want a commodified service, but that under the hood, I mean, this just sounds like what she's really trying to solve. And it's very interesting. I, as a user or a company, buy a commodified service, but under the hood, the commodity has an incredible amount of variety of models through which it can route. Some of which will be the Cadillac, some of it will be the Keurig coffee cup.

  12. Anything you add water to? Basically, right. So when you have the cranberries come into the plant to become cranberry juice, you add a ton of water. It doesn't make sense to produce that far away and then ship all that water. So because you're not just within a day's drive of 40% of the US population, you're also close to New York. So a lot of Keurig, Dr. Pepper has a big production plant. There's a lot of food manufacturing that occurs there as well. Then on the manufacturing side, you also, because of the E. Com, because of the food manufacturing, you saw a lot of packaging and bottling manufacturing show up. One of our most recent and Allentown successes was recruiting a company called Schless Bottle that manufactures bottles for. For beverages. And they wanted to be close to the production point. So the manufacturing bottles in Allentown, filling it with beverages and shipping it back to New York.

  13. So a much nicer example is like the fancy mixed nuts that I was talking about earlier. Saw an opportunity to make a better product, work directly with farmers and suppliers, and kind of clean up that whole supply chain. They do the same thing in coffee, bring down the price, increase the amount of fair trade stuff going into the little Keurig pods. It is just like fascinating to watch when they are willing to leverage their scale to take on additional complexity, like when they feel that's in the interest of members versus when they say, you know what, I think we're going to be a merchant on this one.

  14. You bet. The thing that kept echoing in my head is that these people and, you know, this isn't quite a hero's journey the way that some of our episodes are. It's not the same person all the way through because it's Saul Price, it's Jim Senegal, it's all the executives who are currently on the team today, because most of them have been there for 30+ years. The way that all these people think and act are sort of a different type of hero's journey because they're a different type of hero. I mean, a lot of the times in our society, the people we've built up are these crazy sociopath, shoot-the-moon type people. And this is just a group of people who spent their life's work all working at the same combined company, just trying to improve the model in little ways. There's so little personal ambition. I mean, none of these people have LinkedIn profiles. They do, but like they have one job on it and no picture and no description. Or like, you know, the Costco Twitter account made no tweets ever. There's a crazy consistency to the culture. I walked into the headquarters and the coffee was Kirkland pods from a Keurig. Like when you sit down in the lobby and, you know, someone says, oh, would you like a water? And like, you bet. The water that they hand you is a Kirkland Signature water bottle. I mean, the executives, you walk by the executives, they're in cubicles. It's exactly as you would imagine it. It's perfectly consistent with Costco.
