JPMorgan ($JPM) podcast mentions

  1. Away from the animal spirit and nominal real inflation-adjusted GDP. I think of Michael Faroli at JPMorgan J.P. Morgan, who lifted his Q3 ending September 30 real GDP. And you go, well, can we carry that over into Q4? And certainly the tone of the meeting and everything about it is yes.

  8. The sovereign debt crisis, which kind of coincided with the US debt ceiling crisis of 2011, correlations of 85-90%. So these are companies moving kind of in lockstep with each other. Now, how does it manifest itself in terms of price action? If you're having stocks that are 85-90% correlated, It means that, you know, let's just pick the top 10 stocks from 15 years ago. I don't know, Exxon, Pfizer, Microsoft, JPMorgan. Pick kind of a cross-sector and industry group comparison, right? If each of them moves down 1.5 to 2% on a given day, it means that the S&P is moving about the same. Right? So the stock moves and the index moves are very close to each other.

  9. Chase is in Birmingham up next. Chase, what's going on?

  10. Well, here's my case, Chase. Would she want to be home full-time?

  11. So here's what I did, 'cause I've been in your shoes, Chase. My wife retired after 9 years here at Ramsey. She now stays home with our kids.
George Kamel · The Ramsey Show · Wisdom Starts Where Debt Ends · 2026-09-16
  12. She retired. Well, I don't know if she's gonna work again. My goal is that she never has to go to an office again. But Chase, part of that was we got the home paid off and we didn't talk about, well, it's a 3-point, I could make more in the market if we put it there. We just went, we're gonna have more options more peace and more margin, more freedom if we just get rid of all of our debt. And that's what happened. And we just upgraded to the minivan life because we got two little ones, and it was some grieving on her part to get rid of that SUV. But I'll tell you, walking in there and just writing a check and just leaving with a 0% interest rate, $0 a month, is the best feeling in the world.
George Kamel · The Ramsey Show · Wisdom Starts Where Debt Ends · 2026-09-16
  13. And I'll throw this out there, Chase, because you, you, you, you brought it up, so I'll go there. But when you look in scripture There is nothing positive about debt ever. And it's not a sin, it's not a salvation issue. There is nothing that points debt and wisdom in the same category. There's not. And so if you want to live a life with wisdom with your money and you wanna follow, whether it's Proverbs, the Old Testament, whatever, wherever you wanna pull from, it says over and over that the borrower is slave to the lender and that there is wisdom and not owing people, but actually owning your own stuff.

  14. By the way, I decided to leave after a year as I just couldn't handle working for a large organization. I just, I just, I'm just not cut out for it. Not because I'm such a baller, but I just couldn't stand not understanding where the decision to close our website came from. Anyways, uh, but, uh, any, any agreement that we would sign to be acquired would involve fairly onerous employment lockups. If you're thinking about enterprise value, it really comes down to diversity of capital and income streams. Diversity of human capital, no one person. Goldman Sachs always has co-presidents and co-heads. They never want the head of investment banking to walk in and go, "I own 40% of the revenue here, pay me $100 million or I'm going to JPMorgan." So they have co-heads, and if someone walks in and threatens them, they can stand up and say, "Congratulations, enjoy Lazard Frères or LionTree or Mollis or wherever you're going, right? Evercore."

  15. So let's get into the markets where European stocks are currently up by 0.4% on the Stoxx 600. You've seen shares in Swatec up by 11% after that company got an upgrade from JPMorgan. Also, Barratt Redrow, the biggest house, housebuilder in the UK, shares rising after it reported results. This as we focus on that Fed interest rate hike, but actually 10-year Treasury yields rally a little. We're down a basis point in yields, 4.99%. Germany is not moving much, 3.53%. So a real pause ahead of a widely anticipated rate hike. As for oil prices, they head lower, down 1.2% this morning at just above $107 a barrel.
