  1. So as you, as you were saying earlier, like quite a few like banks and whatnot have cut their growth forecasts for Germany for this year, specifically because of what's going on with the Rhine. So the German central bank had pencilled in growth of about 0.5% for 2026. So you don't have a huge amount of wiggle room. And now like ING, for example, the Dutch bank, reckons it could lop 0.3 percentage points off that. That's a lot. You're really taking out a large part of the growth that had been anticipated for Germany for the whole of this year just because of this one river. I mean, it's kind of amazing, isn't it? And it just sort of tells you that it's all well and good to think of climate change or think of extreme weather events in this sort of very abstract sense. They have a very real impact on economies here and now. I mean, is that really sinking in in Germany, do you think?

  2. Yeah. And I remember calling right before my platoon, right before we went into Pakistan, actually, my platoon was part of a small base at Jacobabad, Pakistan. And we had the AFSOC-53s, which were a CESAR mission. They were stationed there. And sometimes there was an AFSOC-130, and we were security for these birds that were flying around, dropping off medevac-ing or dropping off supplies to the ODAs that were doing the invasion with the Northern Alliance. But I remember before we went in, I was— I finally— they turned off— I forgot what the term was on a ship where you don't have any communication, but we weren't allowed to have any communication with anybody at that point. And so finally they're like, okay, for all the guys getting ready, the SEAL platoon that's getting ready to go in, we'll allow you a phone call or a couple of phone calls. And I remember calling my mom and I didn't— I wasn't able to say anything other than, you know, I love you and all of that. And then calling my dad and trying to play it cool, like, I just can't talk to you. He's like, I know where you're going. And I was like, yeah. And he's like, and he kept saying, I wish I was with you and your team so I could help you call in airstrikes like this old man. Like, and he meant it. Like, I have no doubt in my mind if he was able to get teleported there, he would have thrown on kid and gone in and, and helped us. But I always remember that there was like this warrior spirit was still alive in him. And but telling him, you know, I love you and, and I don't know when I'll be able to contact you. But we flew into Jacobabad and then we were doing some of that CSAR type stuff. Nothing crazy. The war was with the ODAs pushing the Northern Alliance, you know, the Taliban out. And then we went with the Marines into an area called Camp Rhino, which was an old hunting camp outside of Kandahar. And we staged out of that and started doing mechanized reconnaissance with Humvees below the city of Kandahar as it was falling.

  4. I'm not YOLO-ing. I'm not trying to influence anybody. I just like to be honest about it. And when I J trade something, I just take a screenshot now. Like I bought Figma when it was at $20, cuz I was like, you know what? Dylan's like a beast. Um, we should have him on the program. I was like, Dylan's a beast, you know, like he's not gonna sit here and lay it down. He understands designers better than anybody. He understands how to make a great tool, build a great brand, get people to pay for it, all that great stuff. I like to make a bet on him. It's now up to $25 a share, whatever. And now they're doing the same thing. They're retweeting it. J-Cow called the bottom on this. J-Cow called the bottom on this. You know, my promise to you as the people who listen to this specific podcast, when I do it, I'm going to try to be transparent about it to the extent I can. I can't do that with private companies because it's not my choice to make the funding announcement, right? That's the founder and the board's choice. So sometimes I will make a private bet. I'm not at liberty to talk about that. Yeah, you're probably trying to be transparent with the public. Yeah, the J trades only because And the J-trading is all— I'm, I'm not day trading, I'm J-trading. J-trading is hold for a decade. That's the nature of J-trading. Now, you may want to quit a stock if you get new information, but I like to find stocks that I'm comfortable holding for a decade. That's my hold period I'm looking for.

  5. Yes, basically. So South Korean retail investors must now complete a week-long course before— Week-long? A week-long course before they can start trading in single-stock funds as regulators tighten restrictions on products blamed for exacerbating wild swings in one of the world's most volatile stock markets. So the move follows an extraordinary boom and subsequent correction in South Korean equities. The KOSPI rose 76% in 2025 and then doubled again this year, peaking at more than 9,300 points in June. Retail investors poured a net $70 billion into the market. And remember, South Korea is not nearly as big as America. And so, they were all YOLO-ing effectively into the AI-driven rally like chipmakers SK Hynix and Samsung Electronics. The rise coincided with government efforts to boost the market. Single-stock leveraged ETFs in the two companies were introduced in late May, allowing investors to magnify bets on Korea's semiconductor champions. Then at a press conference, On June 8th, President Lee Jae-myung said that the market was still, quote, somewhat undervalued despite having hit about 8,000 points. So you have the president of the country being like, we got room to run. Now is a generational buying opportunity.

  6. So if this goes on for another month, 2 months, 3 months, it's going to have a fairly substantial impact on the economy. How big? I think it's very hard to say. We have some estimates out from some of the houses. ING says that it could cost German growth 0.3 percentage points of growth, which is close to half of what we're estimating here in Germany for the full year.
