  1. I didn't think the pain from the shingles rash would affect simple everyday tasks like bathing, getting dressed, or even walking around. I was wrong. Though not everyone at risk will develop it, 99% of people over the age of 50 already have the virus that causes shingles, and it could reactivate at any time. I developed it, and the blistering rash lasted for weeks. Don't learn the hard way like I did. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist today. Sponsored by GSK.

  2. That's probably when I would want to enter into the full position here. Either way, I do like this company, and hopefully what we saw in Q4 continues into the next quarter. That is AVUV, Aerovironment Inc., or sorry, AVAV, Aerovironment Inc. Thanks for the call. We had a great show yesterday. Justin looked into why the S&P 500 is near record highs, and more importantly, is that sustainable 2026. He also answered a listener question on ticker GSK, which is GSK PLC. It was an ADR. If you happen to miss yesterday's episode, I encourage you to check it out. And remember, the best way to never miss an episode of Invest Talk is to subscribe wherever you get your podcasts. Now on to today, where my main focus point is about cracks in the US housing market Because what we've been seeing recently is that home selling is below the asking price in 38 major cities. And there's a report to this effect that shows homes are selling in 30— not just 38 cities themselves, but 38 of the 50 biggest cities. So is this a signal that potentially the long dominant seller's market may be finally turning? Take a look at that and what this shift might mean for real estate as an asset class, for homebuilder stocks. And mortgage-sensitive portfolios. Also touch on ACA premiums, up 41% in the past 2 years, and now 63% of insurers are proposing a 10 to 25% increase. So what does that mean for healthcare stocks? What does that mean for you? We'll also touch on margin debt because we have seen a record level of that. Net credit balances are at a record $1.5 trillion. That is up 49% year over year. And should we have time at the end of the show, we'll touch on private credit liquidity and how all these redemptions may be more emblematic of a mirage rather than a liquid market. We also have some voicemail calls ready to play, including one on DRIP programs, or I guess that would be saying programs twice. So DRIPs and another on Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, ticker REGN. As well as some questions that came in from the comments section of the InvestTalk YouTube channel. And hopefully we hear from some of you live throughout the show. Headed into a break.

  3. Welcome to Seeking Alpha's Wall Street Lunch, our afternoon update on today's market action, news, and analysis. Good afternoon. Today is Thursday, August 13th, and I'm your host, Kim Kaah. Our top story so far: President Donald Trump's executive order aimed at splitting the combined measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine faces a major hurdle. None of the individual shots are currently licensed in the US. Only Merck and GSK are licensed to make combined MMR shots for U.S. patients. Merck stopped manufacturing individual vaccines for the 3 diseases nearly 2 decades ago. Both drugmakers have said there is no published scientific evidence supporting the separation of the MMR vaccine. Even under current expedited review pathways, it could take years, potentially as many as 10, to meet the safety and efficacy requirements to obtain FDA approval and then begin manufacturing and commercialization. Of single-disease shots, Merck said. A White House official said the government would work with the private sector to develop separate vaccines, relying on market-based solutions. Looking to the economy, the July Producer Price Index came in cooler than expected, flat versus forecasts for a 0.2% rise. The annual rate fell to 4.7% from 5.5% as energy prices slumped. Core PPI rose 0.2% on the month, a touch lower than the 0.3% expected, That brought the annual rate down to 4.2% from 4.7% in June. Odds of a Fed rate hike in September fell further after the release. Among active stocks, IBM is partnering with OpenAI to help enterprises deploy AI at scale and bolster cyber defense through programs like OpenAI's cybersecurity platform Daybreak. The company said the collaboration embeds OpenAI frontier models like GPT-5.6 and agents like Codex and ChatGPT Work into IBM Consulting Advantage, IBM's AI platform for delivering consulting services to clients. Jack in the Box is rallying for a second session as investors and analysts look for signs of a turnaround under interim CEO Mark King. TD Cowen analyst Andrew Charles says he's encouraged by the progress in the Jack on Track initiative, including lowering its leverage ratio and pruning underperforming stores. But he adds the company still has its work cut out for it in a difficult quick-service burger category and against a challenging lower-income consumer backdrop. And Big Short investor Michael Burry is adding to his short bets on Nibius, Micron, Oracle, and the iShares Semiconductor ETF.

  4. Hey, Justin and Luke, this is Eric from Utah giving you a call about the stock ticker GSK. I know it's had a little drawback lately, but seems to be on a long-term uptrend and just wanted your valuation and if this is a good entry point. Thank you.

  5. Looking at GSK, which is GlaxoSmithKline, at least that's, was the name. I think they changed it. They might have shortened it. You know, there's big corporations, they like to keep everything simple. Remember, used to be Restoration Hardware, now it's just RH. Used to be GlaxoSmithKline, now it's just GSK. Well, they do R&D, they manufacture pharmaceuticals, vaccines, consumer health products overall. Headquartered in London, so it's a UK company. Earnings are expected to hit an all-time high this year and then another all-time high next year to $5.14. $4.77 this year, up from $4.70 last year. So growth is definitely slowing a bit, and I think that's probably one of the reasons why this is flagging, is just the multiples are not that great— or the— sorry, the growth rates are not that great, therefore multiple is not going to be that great. That's how this works. Bigger the growth company, the bigger the multiple. But overall, they are in this restructuring program, so that's what is probably holding them back. When you're trying to restructure the business, it's hard to tackle growth and go for growth. So they're kind of holding water while improving their bottom line, improving their margins. Now it has pulled back, but overall it's just kind of consolidated since the beginning of the year. Let's see, closed the year last year right around $49.55, and now we're at $50. So it's up a percent or so on the year. Not a big mover, but just like I said, consolidating. Still a good business, 32% return on equity, operating margin 25%, and that has been headed higher. So they've been doing a good job of creating efficiencies. They have a good balance sheet. Enterprise value to EBITDA looking forward is at about 8 times, which is kind of the midpoint of the last 10 years. So I would say it's not really expensive or cheap. It's kind of fairly valued. Now, if you're looking for exposure to the pharmaceutical industry, you definitely could do a lot worse than this. Like I said, good balance sheet, good business, decent growth, fair price. You're not getting a bargain. But honestly, I don't see anything majorly wrong with the chart that would make me say stay away. It looks fine. It looks like it's just consolidation period. And then you add in, it's a foreign name.
