  1. You have some companies in Canada, like it's Topaz Energy, which has oil royalties. And it's amazing because you just, you lend the assets you have, you buy more fields, and land, and you have almost no risk because the risk is with the refiners and everything after. So it's not really our problem. So I think royalties are a really safe way. Usually even with gold, we don't have a position in this company, but there's a company I really like that does gold royalties. So I would say royalties are pretty much pretty cold business. Yeah, it's a lasting business. It's really durable. There's a risk at the end of like the duration of like, okay, you see like the— it's like there's, uh, you maybe you have asset depletion, right? Yeah, yeah.

  2. Yeah. Uh, it's a sound, sound idea. I do. Let's do talk about the gold royalties and streamers that you like. You do not care for the miners. And I'm just kind of curious, is it more of just the risk profile of the producers? Is it more of the cyclicality of it? I mean, you and I, Talking here that the environment for gold producing has never been better here, Porter. Is it worth taking a little bit of risk? Are you still putting your stamp down saying no, not right now?

  3. Sure. I mean, some of the smaller ones would be Gold Royalty. So that's GROY. That's, that's a very well-run company, well-positioned. It's got incredibly strong royalties that are coming online. It's got a lot of big deals and most of that's in North America. And so, you know, they've got some great counterparties like Agnico Eagle and so forth. And that's, that's relative.

  4. And I will say, folks, this isn't personal financial financial advice. None of this is, but Jonathan recommended or put Gold Royalty on my map maybe a year ago. It has performed very well for me.

  5. Good morning and welcome back to the Mining Stock Daily Morning Briefing, presented by the Clear Commodity Network and delivering today's top news in mining and mineral exploration. From the new ClearCom studios, here's your host, Trevor Hall. Hey, good morning everybody. Welcome back to the Mining Stock Daily Morning Briefing as we begin to wrap up the week. It is Thursday. August 13th. Gold's pulling back this morning, off about a half percent to $4,383 an ounce, as the front-month contract runs into stiff resistance at its 200-day moving average. And the GLD ETF is approaching overbought territory, which may be weighing in on sentiment. Silver is also softer, down 6/10 to $64.88. Copper is also lower as well, off about 0.35%, $6.57 a pound. Speaking of copper, Sweden has given Boliden the green light to proceed with its Laver Copper mine in northern Sweden. It's a project that would double the country's copper production and increase total European Union copper output by roughly 10%. Those are meaningful numbers in a continent that has been trying to reduce its dependence on imported critical minerals. The project will or still needs approval from Sweden's Land and Environment Court before it can proceed. Boliden first applied for the mining concession in 2014 and was initially rejected. They reapplied in 2024 and navigated an appeal process before Wednesday's government ruling. And Tether International has lifted its stake in Metalla Royalty and Streaming to about 14% of the company. Continuing the stablecoin group's push into Canadian gold royalty companies. The El Salvador-based firm bought about 149,000 shares on Monday for approximately $1.36 million at $9.14 per share, bringing its total holding to 13.2 million shares. Tether holds $187.75 $1.2 billion in assets and added 14 tons of physical gold in Q2, reflecting a deliberate strategy to build hard asset exposure alongside its digital holdings. We'll get to the news out of the miners and explorers here in a moment, but first, quick mention of today's sponsor. Today's morning briefing is brought to you by Revival Gold. Revival is one of the largest pure gold mine developers operating in the United States. The company is advancing the Merkur Gold Project in Utah, and mine permitting preparations are ongoing with exploration at Beartrack Arnett in Idaho.

  6. And the only thing I would add is, and I think what makes us pretty unique is we actually own the gold bullion directly in our fund. We don't use derivative. And so if you invest in our fund, you actually own gold bullion. You know, in, in safe. At HSBC in New York, we're probably one of the largest private owner of gold in the US Obviously far behind the Fed. But we do own it directly and we at time complement it with investment in gold mining or gold royalty companies. We've got a few percent of the portfolio in some of those securities. And the rationale behind it is if we can buy gold in the ground at a big discount to gold in the safe, that does make sense. But the vast majority of our gold exposure is via the gold bullion that we do own directly.
