Dell ($DELL) podcast mentions
Okay, at the bottom here, consumer discretionary, software, financials, huge sections of the market have barely moved, right? This is a market that is being driven by the largest CapEx buildout, the largest supercycle in the history of technology. Semiconductors are 70% of the Nasdaq's return. 70% of the return. That's both good and bad, and we'll get into that. So who's making the money? The makers of the tokens are making the money, and the buyers of the tokens are basically going along for the ride. Because of the tightness in the infrastructure market, we have massive public companies that look like venture capital returns. Dell up 5x, Hynix up 9x in just 18 months. I love this chart. In blue, you have the hyperscaler CapEx.
Brad Gerstner · All-In with Chamath, Jason, Sacks & Friedberg · Brad Gerstner: No AI Bubble, Semis Eat the Nasdaq & AI's Take Off Problem · 2026-09-17If you restrict agents and give them credentials just to execute the task that you intend and you allow them latitude in there to be non-deterministic, then there's a higher probability that you can govern them, you can keep them in check. That technology is being built at this point in time. The AI labs should be chatting with us and saying, how do we put this in place? Because we have something to contribute. They have something to contribute. Historically, you've never had technology where cybersecurity was not required. It's not like, oh, I have a Dell server, it's secure, but I still have to come in and make sure it's secure. I have Salesforce, it's secure, but I still have to come in and make sure it's secure.
Jim Cramer - 1 · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 9/16/26 · 2026-09-16Fed Day. S&P slightly higher this morning as we await the decision this afternoon. We do have some names in tech like Coherent, Dell once again, Marvell, all top gainers. J.B. Hunt's the biggest laggard today. Stock is tumbling after the trucking company did warn of an earnings drop between 5% and 10%. Kind of notable since they're not classic guidance givers to begin with. But diesel certainly hurting transports today. We're hearing from some airlines too, also at Morgan Stanley.
Carl Quintanilla · Squawk on the Street · 11AM Hour: Senator Richard Blumenthal on AI, Early Facebook Investor Roger McNamee & Clarity Act Fails to Advance 9/16/26 · 2026-09-16You know, I think you're right. I mean, software, hardware, software, hardware. And yet everybody makes out and we know that what we saw from your quarter, I I thought was the breadth of the partnerships that are making money. A lot of companies, they come up with partnerships, and even some ones that you and I both know are very good, but they're not meaningful. But I think your partnerships uniquely are copied by others and make people a lot of— Michael Dell, FedEx, Federal Express. I check on these a year after that I talk with you, and they are still, you know, they're making money.
Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 9/15/26 · 2026-09-15One of the things that I think would be a good tell for today is Dell is up a great deal. If you were going to slow down the spending on AI other than GEV and Vertiv, I would say you should look at Dell and you should look at HP. The fact that Dell is having a nice rally indicates there are a lot of people who believe things were overdone yesterday, but it is 9:55. So who knows if they can reverse it?
Jim Cramer · Squawk on the Street · 9AM HOUR: Trump Dismisses AI Fears, 10-Year Yield Hits Fresh 2007 Highs, the Fed's 2-Day Meeting In Focus 9/15/26 · 2026-09-15It will. Look, I got to find out from Sarah Fryer when I speak to her, CFO of OpenAI, what does it mean to slow down? Because if you decide— and I spoke to a lot of executives who are in the chain— if you decide you don't want any equipment, the equipment is well available to everybody else and they're going to take it. So I do think that there is an unnatural effect, an unnatural belief that if OpenAI does want to buy stuff and if Anthropic does want to buy stuff, that the stuff is going to sit on the shelf. I think Dell's move today tells you that's not going to be the case. Broadcom's view that we know slowdown is the one that is going to take hold in the near term. That's a nice game. It's a nice game. I don't—

I didn't think they had the horses. They do have the horses. The fact is, is that I'm just a Dell fan, I guess, in the end. I just like Michael Dell and I like his company very much. No offense to Mr. Neary. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the conclusion of the Lightning Round.
Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer · Mad Money w/ Jim Cramer 9/14/26 · 2026-09-14Oracle is also down about 5-plus percent. I mean, speaking equity Of course, we saw after their earnings they'd already sold $20 billion at the market during the course of the summer, earlier in the summer. So they did their raise, so to speak, at least. But that stock down. Dell, by the way, Mike, had been doing nothing but going up lately, but it has reversed as well.

Dell last week seemed like almost a beneficiary of everything going on, whereas some of the other stocks did back back off on, on their, you know, Broadcom didn't trade well off its numbers even though it reaffirmed. But Dell seems to be kind of in this sweet spot. It's just, it's a, it's a smaller market footprint and can, you know, be moved a little more easily than some of the other trillion-dollar guys.
Mike Santoli · Squawk on the Street · 9AM HOUR: AI Leaders Call For Slowdown, Chips Slide, OpenAI's Altman Rules Out 2026 IPO 9/14/26 · 2026-09-14Bloomberg's Greg Sullivan reporting. Meanwhile, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte says Russian drone strikes near the Ukraine-Poland border will boost the military alliance's support for Kyiv. Rutte says the strikes are a sign of growing desperation from Russian President Vladimir Putin. And German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is vowing to press on with military support for Ukraine. That's as opposition to funding has helped propel his country's far-right. President Trump's son Don Jr. reportedly had his wedding bankrolled by a Russian oligarch with ties to Vladimir Putin. This is according to a report from ProPublica. It cites records and interviews with 3 people familiar with the May 24th ceremony in the Bahamas. The report says Umar Kremlev covered hundreds of thousands of dollars of expenses, including rent for the private island where Don Jr.'s reception was held, along with a fireworks show. Kremlev is head of the International Boxing Federation, which is financed by the Russian state energy firm Gazprom. Back to Wall Street, we're watching shares of Baldwin Insurance Group. They are up more than 7% at the open. Billionaire Michael Dell's family office has teamed with Sequoia Holdings to purchase the insurance distributor in a deal worth about $7.7 billion. Novo Nordisk shares traded in the U.S. are higher by more than 1%. The maker of the Wegovy weight loss drug is shedding half its name to boost its brand against Eli Lilly, which has been going as Lilly more often. Novo Nordisk will now be known as Novo. And Los Angeles Clippers owner Steve Ballmer has backed down after initially saying he would vigorously challenge a $30 million fine for violating salary cap rules. Ballmer posted a statement online last night saying he is now committed to putting this chapter behind us. That's news when you want it with Bloomberg News Now. Nathan Hager · Bloomberg News Now · Stocks Fall, Microsoft Joins AI Caution, Oil Jumps, More · 2026-09-14Let's go look at its portfolio. So stock names are Datadog, Western Digital, Dell, AGNC Investment, Oscar Health. So pretty interesting mix. Micron in here as well. 57% is technology, 25% energy, 8% is healthcare. Very, very interesting. Okay. So if you look at its return on invested capital, it's about 32%. Index is about 41%. Category's 45%. It's priced at free cash flow at 13. It's pretty cheap actually. Let's see. But that's also because of, hmm, very interesting. I think this is too difficult. I don't understand their— I mean, I kind of understand their process. It's going to have a lot of portfolio turnover. Yeah. Right now the reported turnover is 175%. So this moves dramatically. Let me look at this. How's this done? Let's just look at the 1-year. That's all we really have from a performance perspective. So this year it's up 31%. Categories. Oh yeah. So it's doing much better over the past, just this year. The 1-year return up 51%. So it's certainly done well. Here's my problem is, you know, it's Micron and Western Digital. These are names I've said before that are, yeah, they have huge earnings growth, huge price growth as of late, but their momentum slowing. We know that's a very cyclical business. And will this name get out before those eventually roll over there. I've already lost momentum. Clearly they haven't sold anything recently. Let's see if they sold any of that. It doesn't look like it. So yeah, I, I just think there's not enough data here for me to give you a strong perspective of the strategy. Okay. Yeah. It's the 30 fastest growers, but that's going to move a lot from quarter to quarter. Usually the market moves before the stock, uh, before the actual earnings report does, right? Micron and Western Digital will break dramatically lower, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, maybe up to 80, 90% before you even get to an earnings report that shows the earnings slowing in a dramatic way. And will this name get out? Probably not. So I just don't— I think this is a TBD. I think you have to watch it. It's too short of a period. A period where there's a lot of names that have grown dramatically in price based on earnings growth that's been now extrapolated.

It changed everything, as is this one, keeping a lid on Treasury yields, which then triggered a rally of solid proportions in the stock market. In a tech-led move, the Dow gained 509 points, S&P climbed 0.86%. Nasdaq jumped 0.96%. I'll tell you what, it was a true throwback day. Funnily enough, the tech rally had little to do with some things that confused me and a lot to do with positive statements by Adobe and Oracle, even as their stocks themselves weren't participating that much. Adobe, a fallen angel, represents enterprise software, and Oracle, once a database company and now a data center builder, represents artificial intelligence. The fact that Adobe showed some growth, any growth, and Oracle was able to raise $20 billion in what's known as an at-the-market equity offering showed that they can live to play again. Both gave conservative forecasts. That's okay. Neither of these companies about to be crushed anytime soon, though. That's what matters. I'll give you the lowdown on Oracle later in the show. But as I said on the morning show, I thought that Adobe, which was down badly, would actually finish up. And it did, gaining 1.3%. I think Adobe is a candidate for a short squeeze. And who else gets to live to play again because of those two? How about all the enterprise software and hardware players dedicated to the data center that have been performing so poorly of late? Companies like Dell, like Vertiv, Cisco, Marvell, GE Vernova, Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, all beneficiaries of hyperscaler largesse, not to mention the stocks of the hyperscalers themselves. Meta, Amazon, Alphabet, and Microsoft, all of which finished in the black. I'd add Apple, but it's— Apple's is very much its own world. Luckily, in a great world to be in, as demand for this new Duo foldable iPhone could be off the charts.
