  1. My 5 stocks are Apple, Costco, Cisco Systems, Microsoft, and Merck. Mr. Kramer, am I diversified?

  2. All right. Now, this is another tough one. Joe's got me over a barrel here. Well, obviously, I like Merck, and I think that they are doing incredibly well. It's just been a good, good period for them. So a bunch of number bumps today. Costco. I go to my Neptune Costco down there, John. I don't know if you passed the Neptune Costco on the way down to Lavalette. If you did, you were taking the wrong way. But that's okay. It's pretty good. Apple's on it. Don't trade it. So now what do we do? We have Microsoft and Cisco. Now I got to get— I mean, I don't know. Chuck Robbins is probably listening. Chuck never misses the show. Chuck, we're going to have to get— you have to trade your Cisco, Joe, because you got to go in. You got too much, too much tech. And wherever we look, we've got data center exposure, whatever. I think that you need to be thinking Wells Fargo. I really like Wells Fargo. They report next week. I think it'll be very good. Microsoft again, Satya. I love Amy Hood. I mean, like, I'm looking at my executive person, knows how much I think of Amy Hood.

  3. So of the 11.8% S&P 500 performance for the first 9 months, energy has contributed 1.3% of that total performance. Not bad, but there is just no way to get around the fact that the energy sector is tiny. Infotech this quarter witnessed a reversal of the tech narrative that was dominant prior to the third quarter. Now, during the first 6 months, investors flocked to hardware tech companies that were experiencing shortages because of the boom in AI CapEx spending. So companies like Micron and SanDisk did really well. Other suppliers such as Arista, Cisco, and Dell did very well too. These were the best performing tech stocks.

  4. That was like Cisco, Microsoft, Intel. Cisco, yeah.

  5. Then LTCM happened, like, totally unrelated to the internet. You had a 22% decline. The Fed blinked, eased rates 3 times, and that's the melt-up. Then the melt-up phase started, '98 to 2000. Mega-cap stocks doubled in valuation and they did not have the earnings to back it up. And you had Cisco vendor financing everybody else, just like Nvidia is doing today. So April 2025 is that same moment. Market had gone 21% down. So back up. 2022, ChatGPT's launch. That was the, oh my God, you know?

  7. 2000 was a little before my time. I started this job in April of 2008, 3 weeks after Bear Stearns failed. So the financial crisis was where I was tested in fire, right? I was in grad school in 2000. However, in 2000, I would say there's a few things that were going on. One is we talked about stockpiling and, and over there, you know, dark GPUs. I don't think there's a lot. There was dark fiber. We've got dark fiber sitting in the ground today for demand that was, it was built off for demand that never showed up. Up. So that was one thing that was different. The other, the valuations were much higher. I'm gonna make up— I don't remember what it was, but Cisco was on 200 times forward earnings, whatever the hell it was in 2000, right? Again, NVIDIA is probably at 12 times, right? So like, we don't have the same kind of multiple-driven— like, if you're worried about a bubble, it's definitely on the multiple side. You'd have to argue why are earnings in a bubble, and even there, like, the multiples are not that high. So that's one big difference, I think, between the two. So one is to build out ahead of demand. I think actually right now demand is— nobody has enough. Like, we're actually building out with demand versus building out ahead of demand.

  11. I'm waiting for somebody to come out and say, yeah, you know, I really want to be in venture capital. I, uh, actually did an analysis of Kleiner Perkins in the '80s and '90s and all their investments. And I built this model and I researched it all. And I researched how they made their investment decisions and how they exited, uh, too early from Apple and Cisco. And if they had held their shares, when they became public companies, what those shares would've been worth and what the returns for that fund would've been. And I looked at their DPI and their TVPI, and I looked at their IRR over 30 years instead of just the 10 they were investors in Apple. I'm waiting for some ambitious kid who does that while they're at school. And that's will change everything for you. And then the other unlock I wanna give you as a gift is to read a biography a month. One biography a month, 10 a year. You can take a month or two off. You can listen to them too. So for example, and you don't have to read just business biographies, although that's a great place to start.

Tyler, what do you think? Do you want to play these or did I have to force you?
