  1. We've already seen moves by Asian countries and, and by Germany actually to, to make a claim for more Canadian natural resources, particularly oil and gas. Liquefied natural gas is a relatively new export industry for Canada. And so I think those are global industries where you can ship things around the world.

  8. Randy. Hi, Jim. I'm I'm fairly new to the game, but I've become a big fan, man. I recently bought 100 shares of Canadian Natural Resources, and I would love to get your take on this stock.

  9. I like that. I think it's one of the better oil and gases. I also like Enbridge. By the way, there's big— thank you, RBM, for this— big liquefied natural gas coming out of Canada in the far west, in British Columbia. And I think people should recognize that that's going to be terrific. For all the Canadian natural gas companies. Let's go to Rocky. This is Rocky.

  10. But the list of companies up there Uh, probably includes Synovus now, uh, not a particularly good company, but selling at such an insane discount on any financial metric. Uh, Canadian Natural Resources, which is basically almost a mutual fund of Canadian oil and gas production. It's one company, but they inhabit almost every play, uh, up there. Freehold Royalty, which is probably my remaining favorite. In Canada. Tourmaline, which I think is the best performer of the Canadian producers. Birchcliff and Peyto, which are the two gas-centric players in Canada. And an odd special situation called International Petroleum, a heavy oil producer controlled by the Lundins, whose major capital investments are behind them, just starting to absolutely gush cash. If Mr. Carney and Mr. Trump can agree on debottlenecking the Keystone Pipeline, enabling the sales of more Canadian heavy oil to heavy oil-starved US Gulf Coast refiners, I think you'll get an added boost in— boost, pardon me— in little International Petroleum. I say little, they're a 50,000-barrel-a-day producer, but compared to Exxon. Right.

  11. And so you're seeing some political pushback around the country for data centers that are in the wrong places. Guess what? There are companies like Tourmaline in Canada that have gas. It's trapped, it's difficult to get to. Over the next five, 10 years, all of this trapped gas in Canada, especially in Texas, is going to be harnessed and extremely valuable because you're going to be able to take those data centers and move them in and create like a private turbine near that natural gas and really harness that cheap, relatively worthless natural gas because it's trapped. And so you're taking trapped gas and you're making it available to data centers. And Tourmaline's in discussion with hyperscalers right now. I think this is one of the best trades over the next five, 10 years. Plus, the political backdrop, Carney in Canada, relative to is far less hostile to this investment philosophy. And the last thing is with the war. The one of the points that the big hedge funds have been making to us in the chat, this war in Iraq and the Strait of Hormuz and lng, what it's doing, it's making US Natural gas and Canadian natural gas much more valuable. Because if you're a global buyer of LNG and you're getting your gas has been trapped in the Middle east, you know, you're burnt, you're not happy, and it's almost like America, you know, attacked Iran. But what they've actually done is they've increased the value of U.S. and Canadian gas assets. I don't know if that was intentional, but think about the buyers of natural gas globally of LNG, that it's going to benefit tourmaline and US natural gas exporters dramatically over the next five, 10 years. I think tourmaline, your downside's 15, 20%. Your upside's 200%.

  13. Looking at Canadian Natural Resources, one of the better-run Canadian oil companies up there. Return on equity around 23%. Very solid. $4.7 billion in free cash flow on a market cap about $100 billion. Good balance sheet. Nice dividend, about 3.5%. Enterprise value to EBITDA right around forward-looking 6.6%. Earnings this year supposed to be $4.45. Israel's strength is 88 because oil price has been going up and Canadian companies have been a big beneficiary of that. But this is a pure E&P company, meaning that's what pretty much all they do. They drill for oil and natural gas. We used to own this name, but we actually switched out for a name that does EMP as well as a lot of refining. Now they have some midstream and refining operations, but others have much bigger segments. I would, you know, that, that's what we were looking for, something that had a bit more exposure there because what you've seen in the Middle East is a lot of damage to refiners, refining facilities, etc. And only 2% of CNQ's business or revenue comes from refining operations. So that's what I would be looking for, are businesses that have more diversity. But is CNQ bad? No, it's a very well-run, like I said, just straight-up E&P company. Exploration and production is what E&P stands for. So I like CNQ, but I'd be looking elsewhere in Canada. Lastly, let's talk about productivity. And post-financial crisis, productivity around the world have been pretty meager. But since COVID productivity has surged. In the 2010s, it was right around 1% per year, but has risen to about 2%, so nearly double. And the question is why? And also, why is this important? Number one, it's important because higher productivity basically says that companies are getting more out of each worker, which limits inflation and ultimately raises economic growth, real economic growth. In fact, the Federal Reserve raised their median forecast for America's long-run GDP growth from 1.8% to 1.2% recently because of the resurgence in productivity. Now, a lot of people will say that it's AI. But this really started once again, pro post-COVID. But AI hasn't really been a, a real thing until the past, you know, year, year and a half, at least widely used in corporate circles. Now, where is this productivity coming from? It's mainly in professional services and management.
