If you've been putting off life insurance, I get it. The old process was miserable. Phone calls with an agent, a nurse coming to your house for a blood draw, then waiting weeks to find out what you'd pay for. That friction is exactly why so many people who should have coverage don't. Here's what I believe: most BP Money listeners need term life, and the right move is to build a ladder. A few term policies of different lengths stacked together so your coverage steps down as your mortgage shrinks and your kids get closer to being financially independent. Financially independent, or you get closer to hitting your financial independence number. The thing that makes that practical now is Ethos, a platform that helps you find life insurance all 100% online. Same-day coverage, no medical exam, you just answer a few health questions online. Up to $3 million in coverage, some policies as low as $30 a month.

  2. And there's no free lunch here. So a financial planner that charges you a recurring fee for every year, a flat fee, will want to provide value to keep the relationship going. So there's no, there's always, there's no perfect incentive model in any of this. An hourly person may want to do more hours and a flat fee person may want to get the job done quicker. There's no perfect incentive model. Just know that that may have some impact in some of the recommendations folks have, even if they are fiduciary. 6. Good to see you, Sarah. You know, today's CPI data was pretty much along the lines of what was expected internally. There were some things that were moving around. But I think, you know, it paints a picture that's very challenging in terms of the future direction. Important because it shows that it's still going to take a good while to get down to the 2%. And just a few days ago, we saw a jobs report that showed a weakening economy. My expectation would be that this gives a lot of room to stand pat for a bit. But there's going to be a lot of attention on whether or not the Fed sticks to the, the importance of getting to the 2% target. The new Fed chair, I think, has tried very hard to make it clear that is a priority of his. But ultimately, balancing the kind of tradeoff between worrying about a weakening jobs market and worrying about inflation is going to be a hard decision. I wouldn't expect a move right away. I think that if I were there, I would be waiting for some more data even tomorrow when the BP data.
