Barrick ($B) podcast mentions

  1. So, you know, so again, I think there's a time and a place, but we're always going to review those opportunities. That's, I think, the greatest use of your capital, drilling out exploration and finding other assets that on our per-share basis are very accretive for your shareholders. The attraction to those companies to us is we will have enough cash flow without having to go to any financing to build almost any project out there. So I mean, obviously we're not building Barrick-size projects, but anything in our, you know, 70, 50 to 200,000-ounce production per year, I think, you know, we could make a case that we could build that out of cash flow. That makes us an attractive partner. The second thing you want to do is you want to buy back your stock if you keep trading at a crappy multiple and people aren't giving you value for that. And the third thing is a dividend, right? So you kind of got your exploration of your own projects and your your, your capital allocation to find new projects to get your production up per share. And then you've got your buybacks, which are, you know, very popular right now. And then you've got your, your dividends. And I think we'll have ample room to do all three of those as we look out into the future. The challenge we have is if we're going to keep trading at 0.35 times NAV, you know, it's hard to buy things. And so that's the reality that we're in. So we've gotta wait and be patient and deliver the things that the market expects of us. I think if you looked at our, you know, milestone chart in our presentation on page 5, we have listed out since October probably 20 things and we've now executed on 15 of those, right? The mark, but the, so that was the, what I'm gonna call the easier stuff. That was like, you know, fixing the balance sheet. Now we're on the path of, focusing the entire organization on, on, on, on the blocking and tackling of building these mines. Right. And we've got everything to help us, everything behind it.

  2. Hey, good morning everybody. Welcome back to the Mining Stock Daily Morning Briefing. It's Thursday, September 3rd. A broad bounce across the metals this morning. Gold's up just over 1% to $4,438 an ounce. Silver's higher by, uh, 3/4 to $65.80. Copper is up just about over half a percent to $6.54 a pound. Brent crude, it's pushing toward triple-digit territory this morning, up another 1.6% overnight to $97.19 a barrel, as continued geopolitical tension in the Middle East following this week's exchange of airstrikes between the United States and Iran keeps energy markets on edge. The combination of rising oil and a rallying gold price reflects the market pricing in elevated geopolitical risk. Brazil's Congress has approved a government-backed bill establishing a national policy on critical and strategic minerals. The policy creates a $2 billion guarantee fund and $5 billion in tax credits over 5 years to attract foreign investment into a sector where Brazil holds the world's second-largest rare earth reserves after China. Separately, Bloomberg is reporting that Barrick Mining is weighing a delay of its planned North American IPO to 2027, having told analysts on its August 10th earnings call that the deal was on track for this year end. We'll get to the news out of the miners and explorers here in just a moment. But first, a quick mention of today's sponsor. Today's morning briefing is brought to you by Revival Gold. Revival Gold is a gold exploration and development company advancing two projects in the Western United States. That's the Beartrack Arnett Gold Project in Idaho and the Merkur Gold Project in Utah. Faraday Copper has released results from 23 Phase 4 drill holes at the Copper Creek Project in Arizona, with 14 of 23 intersecting near-surface copper mineralization. Results were led by Hole 192, which returned 19 meters of 0.55% copper from 42 meters in a previously undrilled breccia and porphyry trend 350 meters south of the American Eagle breccia. Hole 190 returned just over 100 meters of 0.22% copper from surface in the newly identified Copper Giant East area. Resource definition drilling is now complete across 19,500 meters in 76 holes, with a resource update planned for next year and drilling at the adjacent San Manuel project expected to commence this fall. Faraday Copper trades on the TSX with FDY and on the OTCQX with CPPKF. And Kingfisher Metals has appointed Jasper Bertelsen to its board of directors, adding senior industry experience to a company that has seen significant momentum in 2026, including a strategic investment from Barrick that closed in late July and the addition of its shares to the OTCQX Best Market in August.
