And anyway, long story short, Palantir is now supposed to bring back You know, this American tech to its roots, to the defense of America and the West and their allies generally against attacks from the outside.
Daniel Mahncke — The Investor's Podcast (We Study Billionaires) - The Investor’s Podcast Network · TIP841: Palantir – Palantir is Cheaper than I Thought! w/ Daniel Mahncke & Shawn O’Malley · 2026-08-27Yes, absolutely. China is an existential threat and Taiwan is a courageous democracy. It is important that America returns to its position of moral authority on the international stage, that we stand with our democratic allies like Taiwan and like Ukraine, particularly with Taiwan. They produce over 60% of the semiconductors globally. It is critically important that we return to a position where we can be parts of conversations about defending our Democratic allies. And the Senate is not a place for on-the-job learning. Being new to politics is no excuse to being unprepared. I'm a doctor. If I showed up to work unprepared, children would die. Running for the U.S. Senate is just as critical as that job, and, um, Darlene Graham needs to treat it as such. We should expect more, which is why I'm challenging her to step on the debate stage with me. And if people want something different than an anointed Republican politician from South Carolina. I encourage them to go to drannieandrews.com to learn about me and what we can do to elect the first ever pediatrician to the U.S. Senate.
Dr. Annie Andrews — Meet the Press · Meet the Press NOW — August 26 · 2026-08-26Bloomberg's Brendan Murray reports the list includes exports from states Republicans are hoping to protect in the November midterms, like Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Revolution Medicines has won U.S. approval for a pill that lengthens the lives of patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. The once-daily drug, branded Rezonq, carries a list price of more than $475,000 a year and is one of the first medicines to broadly target RAS, a protein tied to tumor growth. Almost three-quarters of U.S. adults feel guilty when they spend on things that bring them joy instead of putting the money toward a financial goal. That's according to a report from Ally Bank. About 70% of people say they're stressed about balancing financial responsibilities with enjoying life, with 77% saying they sometimes cut back, delay, or forego things they enjoy because of financial pressure or competing priorities. That's news when you want it with Bloomberg News Now. I'm Matt Piper and this is Bloomberg.
Matt Piper — Bloomberg News Now · Meta Settlement Over Teen Addiction, Putin to Escalate War, More · 2026-08-26Emerald AI transforms AI data centers into flexible grid allies capable of reducing their power demand when the grid is stressed out. We solve 3 problems all at the same time. The race for power and AI as the United States tries to maintain its lead against China in the AI race. We get data centers connected faster because they're flexible. We keep rates down. We control affordability of energy for communities, and we keep the grid more reliable and protected against—
Varun Sivaram — Squawk Pod · Angles of AI: Flexible Power, AI in Op-Eds, & Top Talent Moves 8/26/26 · 2026-08-26Exactly. Emerald AI is a software control system. To help an AI data center control its power when the grid's stressed out. Let's say it's a hot summer day in Phoenix, Arizona, and the grid says, hey, I need some support. An AI data center now can be a responsive ally by reducing its power in that moment. We've showcased a 25% reduction for 3 hours.
Varun Sivaram — Squawk Pod · Angles of AI: Flexible Power, AI in Op-Eds, & Top Talent Moves 8/26/26 · 2026-08-26So there's 3 ways you can achieve this flexibility. Okay. First is temporal flexibility. Maybe there's some stuff happening at that data center, fine-tuning models, for example, that can be slowed down or paused. We, for example, can reduce the clock frequency of the NVIDIA GPUs running at that facility. Okay. The second thing you can do is you can move AI workloads. Let's say, Andrew, you and Becky, as you mentioned, are asking ChatGPT questions at some rate. You expect answers back. Well, we can move AI work and we've done this. We've showcased between Virginia and Chicago and the Virginia grid was tight. We moved queries from one location to another at the speed of light. And so you basically don't notice the difference, but that Virginia data center now can provide some relief back to the grid. And the third way is you might have a resource on site, a battery, let's say, and you can use that battery to reduce the grid draw. You do these three things together— temporal, spatial, and resource flexibility— and that data center becomes a responsive grid ally.
Varun Sivaram — Squawk Pod · Angles of AI: Flexible Power, AI in Op-Eds, & Top Talent Moves 8/26/26 · 2026-08-26I'll give you an example. So because we make these data centers flexible, they become allies, friends to the grid. The grid's really like this. So Silicon Valley Power, a utility in the heart of Silicon Valley, has worked with Emerald, partnered with us to roll out a flexible load interconnection program. That means they've got 60 data centers in their territory. If you want more power, you don't have to wait 10 or 12 years anymore. You can get it overnight. If you're willing to be flexible. And one way to do that is to use Emerald AI software in that data center. Who are you competing with? Look, I think we're creating a new category here. I'm sure.
Varun Sivaram — Squawk Pod · Angles of AI: Flexible Power, AI in Op-Eds, & Top Talent Moves 8/26/26 · 2026-08-26Okay. I really like that model. That's the question I was going to ask you, which is, do you think this was just sort of a one-off, like you're an ally, you know, an important ally, you're struggling, we're going to help you out a little bit? Or do you expect more of the same coming forward from us?
